Oh man, I had a major thing for Raquel Welch when I was an adolescent. She was THE sex symbol of the early '70s and stayed remarkably good looking well into her later years.

I may have to take tomorrow off to mourn. I remember her hitting the scene in 67 or 68. Had an immediate erect, err I mean crush. Yeah she still had it well past when most had lost it. RIP Raquel

This is why I still had a thing for her later in life.

Even in her old age she would put herself together. You can tell she had some work done but not to the crazy extent that women half her age get done. I know she had a line of wigs too so I suspect she usually wore one in her later years. Regardless, has to hold the record for consecutive years as a smoke show.

Tim McCarver died today at his home in Memphis TN.

As much as he bugged me at times (most of the time lol) I have a heavy heart. He is as I am, a baseball guy.

RIP Tim, now get your ass back behind the plate!
Agreed. He got cranky in his later years. I was fortunate enough to have field passes for a Dodgers-Cardinals game at Busch Stadium a few years back. He reluctantly came up to talk to my son and me. He loosened up a bit when I talked about his hometown of Memphis & posed for a photo but you could tell he didn’t want to spend a lot of time making small talk w/ fans & I totally understood.

I know he's been dead for awhile but I miss this guy. One of my favorite bands and a huge Notre Dame fan:

Well, we can definitely agree on this one. His death really hit me hard, even though it wasn’t that surprising. STP and Velvet Revolver were great bands.

Yes sir. Me too. My son has just discovered the Stone Temple Pilots and loves them. So we were talking about them and Scott Weilland's love for ND football last night.

I had no idea that his dad played football for ND.

my 1st gig out of college was selling billboard advertising. Back then cigarettes could advertise & the tobacco companies took full advantage. They were always National Accounts and consequently a “house” account managed by a sales manager…not a rep. The tobacco company would send one of their reps in to do a field ride & sign off on all the billboard locations. Once, when my manager had to take off; they asked me to drive the field rep around to approve the locations for the latest Camel cigarettes ride.

i picked up the rep & away we went. It was pouring rain but like a good company man, he still asked me to pull over occasionally so he could step out of my car with an umbrella to have a smoke. He lived in So Cal and we started telling me about the area he lived in. He asked if I’d heard of STP. Of course, I have all their CDs. He said Scot‘s family were neighbors of his & that his own son was in a garage band called “Whiskey Biscuit” & they were included in the liner notes as folks STP thanked. (I looked later that day when I got home & sure enough they are recognized in the liner notes). He then went on to say he could wring the neck of Scot’s older brother for introducing him to heroin. A few years later, the older brother died of an OD and then, of course; we all know Scot followed suit later.

Richard Belzer, comedian and actor, has died at the age of 78. He was probably best known for playing Det. Munch on Law & Order: SVU and Homicide: Life on the Street.

Long career as a comedian. I remember being surprised the first time I saw him on L&O. Pretty decent actor. RIP Det. Munch.

Didn’t Tim McCarver and Prime have a problem at some point? Real good baseball analyst. Raquel was a dime at any age.
