Really hoping there’s a Hit & Hustle today to hear Greg and Jamie’s takes on this

Just a really, really brutal scenario. Moving forward anyone we attempt to hire will know full well the only reason they’re even a candidate at this point is bc the BoT/BoF/Jack were too cheap to pony up the cash to hire the guys MF actually wanted.

What’s the old saying in recruiting? “Watch what the recruit does, not what he says”.

The ND administration is no different. We all know of countless things it’s done the last 30 years that shows it has no desire in being an elite program. They will keep selling nostalgia with a sprinkling of hope for as long as they can before ultimately going the way of the Ivies. Last one left, turn out the lights on your way out.

The last time I saw the ND fanbase this unified we hired Freeman. I wonder if the united public outcry will change some top minds because this doesn't look good for ND or Ludwig

It's amazing that the BoT doesn't want to spend the money. After all, you put a consistent NC contender on the field, the revenue is only going to go up from what it is today. People want to jump on Jack, but he only has so much leeway. In this instance, I would think his hands are somewhat tied. Gotta believe he made a pitch for paying the buyout.

I still have a headache.

What an embarrassment to wake up to. ND admin are some greedy ass bastards. As others have stated I am not spending shit on ND football. This is what you get when clergy is involved.

As long as people keep paying high prices to go see our team play nothing will be done. The media is killing ND for this crap they pulled it's a bad look all around. The first big time program that has an opening, USC, Oklahoma, Texas, Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia, Bama Freeman is gonna be a hot commodity. I wouldn't blame him to leave this joke of a school. When your head coach wants a coordinator you do everything in your power to get that guy. 4 million buyout for Ludwig and his OL coach is penny's compared to what ND makes yearly.

Donors have to call.. alumni have to scold.. everyone has to demand they do more for the program..

It’s the only way.. They just refuse to prioritize it even in the most advantageous situations.

You have a roster capable of competing in the playoffs, a young but talented HC & a chance at securing a proven OC for a few million $ with one of the biggest endowments in the NCAA..

It’s not just not getting Ludwig.. It’s the ripple effect of not supporting the program.

Frustrating to say the least.

Looks like we need to form our own NIL to pay the buyouts.

Wow…

Just wow. This shit makes me question where I spend my money. 🫤
Don’t worry. You’ll get a real sense of pride when they bring out the women’s fencing team or the geology department during the 2nd quarter next time you’re at a game. The administration really has their finger in the fucking pulse.

At the end of the day ND is way behind on NIL, Swarbrick needs to go. Freeman is the right guy and I'm 100 % positive on that but if he can't get backing from the Adminstration and get the coach he wants we can't blame Freeman when this team goes 8-5 this year or 9-4. Freeman has done a hell of a job considering the circumstances so far.

Feel bad for Coach Freeman, and us as fans! I actually will go out on a limb and say I 100% agree with Driskel/Shaun!

I was at Notre Dame/Wisconsin hockey game a few weeks ago. Felt so good about the direction of sports at Notre Dame, and then this.

I'm not delusional enough to think that what I do as an individual matters, but here's how I'm going to "boycott":

Not sure I'm at a point where I'd entirely walk away from supporting the program with my time, but I'm done doing it with my money. At least directly. I planned to take my entire family to our first game in South Bend this fall. Figure tickets, concession, bookstore...would have dropped a small mint into the university's revenue stream. Not anymore. Fuck that. I'll watch on TV, for now. But no more apparel. No more merchandise. Fuck them. Not like they're gonna spend it on the program anyway.

Yep, no more apparel or games. If the want to act like a average team then they need to charge like an average team. Overpriced crap.
