Klein has been an OC for like 30 seconds. At Kansas State, the only place he has ever worked. What "guys" would he have who'd be better than our guys? Who on offense were all brought in - by Freeman - a year ago, and are killing it thus far.

But, yeah, "fit" could mean any of a dozen things they didn't see eye to eye on. OK. There will be others.

I know for a fact that several OCs have said no to the Miami job because Cristobal insists that Alex Mirabal (his best friend and high school teammate) remains the OL coach.

I can totally see why it would be an issue, and that's fair. Something for Freeman and the new OC to talk through.
But in our current situation, aside from possibly Parker, I'm going to be skeptical that anyone these OCs would want to bring in will be better than the guy they would push out. Harry Heistand is not "Freeman's buddy from high school."
