Any chatter on how much interest/ contact he's having with ND?

Both sides still talk to each other.

Beasley was their top (realistic) target. And Beasley really likes ND, Freeman & Mickens. He just committed to the in-state school quite early, as they were on-pace, at the time, for a championship run. Unless ND fills up with a few other players, and I suspect they are going after three cornerbacks this cycle, they won't stop recruiting Kaleb Beasley.

On pace for a championship run=being undefeated at some random point in the middle of the season?

Well, if you look at where they were at that specific point in time, then yeah. Tennessee was around 7-0ish and that SEC media hype train was behind them hard. Then they got beat by Georgia. Then they got smacked around by SC.

Yeah and the SEC media hype train ended up meaning what it has always meant—absolutely nothing. Tennessee had a good year, that’s it.

True, but that misses the narrative of this recruitment so far. Beasley jumped on the hype train at that point in time. Hopefully Freeman and the wily gang can talk some sense into him now that the pixie dust has wore off.

Agreed. From watching his film and reading about him, I'd peg him as close to another Morrison as ND could get.
