It's certainly possible. The information is new, but I'd expect if there's no prior history of the guy identifying in that way then it'll get thrown out quick and he's charged with the hate crime. Either way, lock him up forever.
I don’t see a court being able to use history. That would set up a whole host of issues and lawsuits the court won’t want. If he’s charged with a hate crime and he’s stating he was one of them but just had a bad day it could set up for a mistrial. Prosecutor might want the optics of a hate crime but why risk it.

I’m no expert but if I had to guess, I’d say he’s bi-polar. When he’s on his meds, he’s likely well controlled but that means he doesn’t experience those extreme highs & lows. The highs are what produces all his creativity via music & fashion. The lows is when the conspiratorial & delusional nonsense starts & in his case, he’s happy to do it into a mic and we get what we see now.
