Was watching the Virginia House races since it "could" hold some indication of the night overall.

District 2 and 7 were listed as toss-ups with Republicans likely having the edge in 2 and the Dem's a slight edge in 7.
District 10 was listed as a Dem lean but if the Republicans could make it close, it could spell trouble.

It does look like the Republicans will take 2
Republicans look to have taken 7 (plus 2.8 with 99% of the vote)
Dems take 10 (plus 6 with 99% of the vote)

Not sure what, if anything, we can take from it for sure.
Well I'm not sure what's going on in district 7. Percentage counted may have been off previously. Democrat incumbent back in the lead.

Walker has edged ahead at 82%. Looks like Fetterman will beat Oz.

Not surprised at all. Knew this was coming. This is what happens when you run shitty candidates and still embrace a loser (Trump). His endorsements have failed in key states tonight. Time to move on to DeSantis.

This is my main takeaway. Trumpers/Crazies are running way behind their projections, and non-crazies are doing well. Oz... a whacko from New Jersey with zero appeal to moderates or Democrats... edging out the very reasonable McCormick in the Republican primary by the narrowest of margins might be what tilts the senate. These MAGA vs normal proxy wars have got to stop. Same thing with Trump attacking Desantis for no reason yesterday.

Typical. Seeing Republicans blame Libertarians for the potential run off in Georgia with the assumption that Libertarians would otherwise vote Republican. They cry that Libertarians are throwing their vote away - no, they are exercising their democratic right to vote for the candidate they see most fit. It's a shame that Americans believe we can only have two parties.

Try this: get a better candidate, and you might get more Libertarian votes.

Looks like Nevada may be heading red… Dems with only a 3 point lead and most of the rural votes outstanding.

So it’s all going to come down to a Georgia run off again lmao

This is why I’m DeSantis 2024. Red Tsunami
Yeah, gotta back DeSantis at this point. What he did in Florida was impressive, even managed to flip Miami-Dade. Voters don't show up for Trump if he's not on the ballot.

Oz and Walker were such awful candidates. I don't see Walker winning a runoff, and if Oz wasn't so unlikable I think any reasonable candidate goes over Fetterman. GOP really backed some stinkers in those races.

What DeSantis has done in Florida is amazing. The results are solid and his work has paid off. He’s not screwing around.

What Trump has done is garbage. McConnell’s investments prob make a little more sense today to some who were pointing fingers.

If conservatives truly care about winning any election in the foreseeable future, they’ll distance themselves as far from Trump and Trump-backed candidates as possible.

Everyone knew running Mehmet Oz was stupid. And guess what? He lost. Herschel may, too. Masters is probably going to lose. Choose actual conservative candidates that independent and centric voters can support. It’s a pretty simple script, really.

Mitch’s super PAC’s spent over $200 million in key races to try and help Republicans. Trump? $15 Million. “Save America” and “Stop The Steal” were nothing but grifts. He’s laughing all the way to the bank, keeping nearly all of the money for his legal issues and for his 2024 run.

Can someone summarize where we’re at right now? Trying to actually get some factual information about some of these races that haven’t been called is impossible. I am gathering that:

+ Likely R majority in House
+ Senate either 50/50 or possibly 51/49 R depending on GA?

Probably a slim majority in the house. NBC was predicting 220 this morning. Need 218 for majority.

As far as the Senate goes, your summary is likely if the Republicans take Nevada. Lots of mail in ballots to count yet, so the race could definitely change.

I’m very skeptical that Walker can pull off a runoff victory.

I tried telling people. Voters would likely not care that much about the economy and inflation.

The 30+ crowd cares more, but they're saying a lot of GenZers were out and they don't care as much. They came for Roe.

This country is in trouble with the success of the democrats tonight.
It's been in trouble since 2016. It's time people wake up to what both parties do and stop allowing shit candidates to run. Like @sixstar said people vote Libertarian because it aligns with their beliefs more than Ds and Rs (I'm a Libertarian as well). I will vote D or R sometimes if I think the candidate is a good fit (Shapiro for Gov over Whacko Mastriano here in PA for one), but I am not the lost vote Rs think I am, and thousands more are like me. Stop giving us shitty candidates.

Seems easy to blame Trump, but Cocaine Mitch wanted SCOTUS so badly and he got it. It was all to overturn Roe, which they did, and continue to wield more power to corporations and the wealthy, which they are.

This would have been a red wave had it not been for Dobbs. Big picture, that's on Mitch in the long run.

You just described me to a T. I’m 35 and there’s a lot more like me out there at this point as opposed to registered R/D. All the party system does is disenfranchise us.

I have said the last few elections it seems like you vote for who is the less evil.
