TB starts for the first time in 3 years, away to #2 as a 16.5-17 pt underdog with horrible IOL play, doesn’t throw a pick or lose a fumble despite pressure most of the night and y’all talking about QB transfers.

Rough crowd.

He didn’t pick because Tommy isn’t stupid, btw.

There was. We told them no

JT Daniels I know for a fact wanted in

Slovis I know at least had a phone call with Rees

Cannot confirm Jaxon Dart, but I had heard his name involved as well.
The Daniels thing can’t be true,…

Fair point. I’ve had a good night sleep and calmed down.
He looked pretty slow but so did styles, Lenny and tyree.
It was a good defense so good chance he improves against the next few weeks opponents.

I’m sure the game was happening faster to him then anyone else in that stadium. Only thing that cures that is game reps.

This time next week, we’ll see. I’m not asking him to put up video game stats against Marshall, just that we see improvement.

Give him something to work with, and then we’ll see. That’s what I said.
He is oc at ND who has been knocking on the door of a national championship for 5 years. What else does he need to work with? He is just an average recruiter.

My wife made the comment last night that TB12 was lucky to hurt his foot and not play in the spring game or the coaches probably would have been looking for a transfer. Which got my wheels turning a bit knowing they have seen TB and Pyne practice all last season. With NIL and all the moving peices around college football it is just sad ND has a TB12 behind center. There had to be someone on the portal to at least provide depth. Give me Cade McNamara once he loses his job at this point.
The school won't let us go out and get a Joe Burrows. We have to get a grad transfer or someone from northwestern or Harvard.

It's a big disadvantage.

Cain Madden came from Marshall and Alohi Gilman was a Freshman at Navy and they got through admissions.

We haven’t knocked until last night, btw.

Not sure why this is difficult, but here I go again….

These are not Tommy’s players. If you think that HC doesn’t control this shit, then you’re an idiot.

Nick Saban flips his OC every 3 years, or sooner when needed. Players come to HIM.

These kids think that ND is their G’pa’s team. That’s shit is about to flip

Cool. So we can’t blame any recruiting problems on position coaches or coordinators. Point taken.

Was it our coaches or the school??? If the former that’s really bad
Coaches. They didn’t want to promise him the starting job and weren’t sure he’d be an upgrade over Buchner. Didn’t think it was worth it for a one year rental.

Seems… questionable. But if they were worried about locker room dynamics or Buchner transferring then I get it somewhat.

Fight if you want. Nobody cares. It’s all about the HC.
Not fighting at all, just found your take surprising. After all there’s been thousands of posts on here through the years arguing about how good/bad different coaches are at recruiting. Literally the first time I’ve heard someone take your stance.

Kelly delegated all recruiting assistants. Others guys are hands on. Not every staff is the same, but the buck always stops at the top.

Damned if you do, damned if you don’t for a 1st time HC with a mostly new, young staff.

I don’t disagree.

But that was in the past under BK, thus the problem.

No more. Freeman wants a recruit, he goes gets it. Eyes on the prize buddy,

People want to play for Saban. Parman chose NAIA Tech over D1 MAC because of Hersh.

It’s all about the HC

Looks like Rees has replaced Kelly as the reason for our failings. Otherwise known as whipping boy
There’s a lot going on beyond the play calling. We’ll find out a lot more about this offense when we go up against teams that are not “elite.
Everyone should agree that our talent is not elite yet. Until it is you really can’t expect us to beat elite teams.
But there has to be a scapegoat so it’s Tommy.

Assistants do a lot of the front-line trench work of recruiting. They build the relationship. They’re essential. But a kid who chooses a school for an assistant coach is usually making a mistake.

Head coaches are closers (when they want to be). They also set the tone and the culture of the program. And they’re a lot more likely to still be there on Senior Day. Kids choose schools for head coaches all the time.

No complaints on TB. First start and against a really good team. No complaints at all.
Rees on the other hand, plenty of complaints

Once Tommy bolts at the end of the year for the NFL, would Hartline be the kind of coach to bring in? Does he work with Day on playcalling?
Cannot imagine this. Nice pipe dream but cant see it

Grass is brown on this side.
The fuck is Tommy supposed to with dry grass?

We’ll get him something to work with soon. Then we can make our opinions

Let him go and he’ll throw up 50 elsewhere.

We need players
