There were some (myself included) who wanted Book benched after a disappointing start to the 2019 season and a career worst performance at Michigan. We all looked like fools when Book went on a tear to close out that year.

I didn’t start calling for Books head till the Va Tech game after the Michigan game. That game for the first 47 minutes was putrid. He won us the game on the last drive, and then took off after that.

I'm always pulling for whoever is under center. I learned awhile ago that the coaches almost always get it right when it comes to who the starter is, because whoever is behind them likely is struggling in some aspect or multiple aspects of their game. Rees over Hendrix. Book over Phil. Cam McDaniel over GB. Schmidt over Morgan. It's not always pretty. There's a reason some of these look stupid on paper, but they end up being the right call. That was the past staff though, we'll see what happens under Freeman. Kelly made his mistakes too. Crist over Rees in '11 was the wrong call.

Malik was electric prior to the injury. Really looked like a leader against LSU in the bowl game and then 2015 by completely dismantling Texas. He lost a step after the ankle though, and the offense got retooled to fit Kizer's strengths. It was something seeing him out front blocking for Folston on that TD run against the Tigers, you don't see that often from QBs.

No doubt. Texas '15 is the best QB'd game I've ever seen in ND history. Going to the game with Malik's dad was pretty cool too.

The next year against Texas was basically my wake up call to never let it impact me like that again,… I legit had chest pains and almost ruined my marriage. I legit skip select games now

I forget what year it was, but at some point I realized I get 13 of these games a year and I'm going to enjoy every one.

Some I obviously enjoy more than others, but the full blown melt downs don't happen anymore.
