Trust me - that is exactly what happened. They took a 2024 QB from a well-known football family who happens to be actually OLDER than Dante and there was discussions or reclassifying to 2023. Part of this was ending the recruitment of Dante. They could have delayed or not agreed to suspend recruiting Dante but Rees didn't. They also agreed to stop recruiting Julian Sayin too FWIW. Sayin is a legit 5 Star that had ND at the top of his list.

There was a lot going on. ND fans here don't want to admit it but that is the case. Now, ND might look at QBs for 2023 that will make Angeli look like Joe Montana.

I like getting Carr for 2024 but not with pushing away from Dante. Rees should have taken Carr only for 2024 until Dante's recruitment was finished. That didn't happen.

Otha, that you? Maybe, Malik? It's obvious that you're pushing an agenda here, just unsure why.

AGAIN, just like it was the plan for Dante before he and Otha went ghost. You're not unearthing some crazy plot twist that nobody knows about. It is literally no different than when they cancelled Vizzina's visit or didn't visit Avery Johnson because of Dante's "commitment". They made Dante the #1 for the entire cycle. Dante had first right of refusal on EVERYBODY.

You refuse to accept that what you are complaining about with CJ and the Carr's, is literally what they did for Dante. The difference between the two is CJ made good on his commitment and is recruiting his butt off for our football program. While Dante and Otha refused to step up and accept the position they committed too.

everybody needs a trusty backup. Drew is a wonderful backup qb for all said programs. Angeli seems to fit that same mold. Typically those programs don’t go fro two 3 stars back to back years though.
FWIW, Angeli was a composite four star.

“NIL, of course, is going to help cover a lot of the flying, a lot of the moving you need with your family, so I'm really appreciative of NIL.”

Haha, "It won't be about NIL". I remember reading that somewhere. It was always about the NIL. As soon as they didn't commit and scheduled visits to NIL U's, it was clear. They about that money.

Which is fine. Go get it. I have no problems with that. Just don't expect us to sit around holding our dicks while you're screwing us over.

We’re built different. Not better. But definitely different.

Kenny Dillingham has coached whom, Bo Nix?
I was told that every OC needed multiple decades of proven QB production before they could be expected to do their jobs on the recruiting trail.

ND: young first time HC with an OC in his early thirties.
Oregon: Same

Comes down to "relationships" though. Right.

We dodged a bullet. What will he do if USC offers him another million after his freshman season? CJ is a rare breed. Please move this kid up a class.

Mods need to change the title of this thread to “Dante Moore’s thread of the random”.

The "insiders" on the board can now spill the tea. Let's hear it.
So many of the "recruiting insiders" still seem like they don't want to spill the tea and it's bizarre. Moore's camp doesn't own you now - tell us what happened.

Driskell says that Moore was a silent ND commit in February, and the plan was to go public in April.

(Maybe this isn't news, I haven't followed the whole episode closely.)

Earliest this week, not sure if it was Wednesday or Thursday but Loy did say that he'll give some backstory once this wraps. We'll see what we get. I think most of it is known but maybe some juicy details will come out.

Like when they told Freeman they weren't going public with the commitment in April he choke slammed Otha through a table and challenged him to a cage match.

I don’t really comprehend the silent commit thing. Seems stupid.

Kudos to Freeman for going after CJ hard in April then. The fact there’s not a whisper of even the slightest about interest in any ‘23 QBs has to feel a little like CJ is possibly looking to move up.

I think it will be awhile before Loy even wants to mention Dante again. He's been getting cooked pretty good over on the 247 boards all week. His responses just sound exhausted at this point.
