In what world do you live? billionaires, including a Swiss billionaire are bankrolling Dems. At least the chicks at CPAC aren’t 5 years removed from a dick saw.
The world in which the tiki torch brigade are simping for Elon Musk because he now on the "Right".

Chicks at CPAC are 5 years removed from their last stomach stapling lmao. If you're worried about running into someone that underwent gender reassignment, I'd reassess what you find attractive. Then again...

Restoring our energy policy, foreign policy, and economy way more important than owning the libs right now.
Exactly, this woman was arguing with me and saying that these issues aren't important and only Roe v Wade is right now. I finally just said 'ma'am, where is your husband?'
Well she just absolutely flipped out and stormed off shouting 'I DONT NEED A HUSBAND!'

It turns out she was gay so I guess she was like double angry.

"This isn't happening in schools" they say. I do not understand how this is educational. They're not really dancing, there's no real talent here. I don't get what they are doing here. At least they didn't do their club routine I guess.

Race based grading? I guess requiring attendance, completion of classwork and proper classroom etiquette is racist now…….I just don’t understand. Maybe as long as the students register for school within a few weeks of the deadline, we can automatically pass them for the year. Thinking like this is extremely counterproductive to the all the students and will disincentivize learning, makes no sense.

Maybe it’s the school system setting up the teachers for when they are all up for a raise… require less so they can pay less.

I'd like to say I'm happy my kids are done with their education, but I worry about my grandkids and what they will be subject to.

Where did it say they're dumbing down education lol
I guess they would not write "dumbing down education" just like Florida's bill does not say "Don't say Gay". Guess I am being a big fat MAGA hypocrite.

This is the statement released, where is the innuendo that they will try to dumb it down.

It has come to the District’s attention that a recent article in the online West Cook News inaccurately states that at the Board of Education’s May 26 meeting, Oak Park and River Forest High School announced that it will implement a race-based grading system in the 2022-2023 school year. This is not true.

OPRFHS does not, nor has it ever had a plan to, grade any students differently based on race. The article contains a variety of misleading and inaccurate statements. The article’s mischaracterization of the Board meeting is unfortunate and has caused unnecessary confusion.

As part of the Board of Education’s strategic plan, the OPRFHS Grading and Assessment Committee was formed to examine national research on objective, unbiased practices for determining whether students have mastered academic content. At the Board of Education’s May 26 meeting, the administration’s representative to the OPRFHS Grading and Assessment Committee provided an initial report that included a progress update on the committee’s examination of grading practices.

At no time were any statements made recommending that OPRF implement a race-based grading approach.

Prior to implementing grading changes, if any, recommendations will be made to the Board at a public meeting. Again, contrary to the title of the article, the district has not implemented, and has no intention of implementing, any grading and assessment policy based on race.

As the OPRFHS Grading and Assessment Committee continues its work, the district is committed to keeping the community updated to any changes. We encourage the community to seek information directly from the district or other reliable news sources rather than internet sources that continue to share inaccurate information.

I think the idea of “no child left behind” is a great one that should still apply today…….we just have to make sure that it doesn’t prevent or dissuade children from exceeding. There will always be some people more capable of higher achievement than others and it has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with upbringing and genetics, in my opinion. In other words, we can’t hold back some to allow others to pull even.

Its a statement just refuting what was said in the article. It does not talk about what they are actually doing. What does is the actual meeting notes... please look them up and do a little research.

They are all about equity based learning and part of that equity is not counting zero's in the gradebook and letting people finish the class in thier own time or timing. You need two semesters to complete a class that "should" take a semester... no problem and receive the same grade as your fellow student that completed the class in that semester.

They are not saying their equity is based on race... they are adding gender equity and other "equity" that seem to make students not as smart as other students with whatever charactoristic or charactorists that do not fit in an equity category.

Just to be clear, you're telling me to look them up and do research when I posted the school's statement and not a piece by an outside news site?

These are proposal/slide decks prepared by an outside firm hired to look into this, this isn't a school board issued statement. When I do proposals or provide clients with step-by-step memo for tax planning/reorgs/purchases the language used is always active language. This is how the world works, you take the position as if you were the client to show them how it will look. The client will decide how they want to proceed and when the project is put in place it becomes the client's responsibility - this is how the world works. So, just because the memo is using active language or provides recommendations it does not mean the client has taken these positions. It's up to them at that point what to do, and if the school board is saying it's not part of then it isn't.

Look at the top of the Document.

To: Board of Education

From: Laurie Fiorenza

Who is Laurie Fiorenza? She is not an outside agency. She is the Oak Park River Forest Director of Student Learning .

The next link is the actual slide used during the meeting... It clearly reads:

"Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, OPRFHS will implement a professional development plan that is comprehensive and differentiated to support the needs of all teachers and the learning of all students."

The next slide:

"By Fall of 2023 consistently integrate equitable assessment and grading practices into all academic and elective courses."

This is not a proposal from an outside agency. This is an update from the Director of Student learning inside the agency.

We're effectively segregating kids by grading them differently now? Really feels like we're going backwards.
This was already becoming a thing when I was still in k-6. The fact ‘they’ can get away with saying ‘x isn’t in our schools’ shows me how little they respect voters, how confident they are that the media will control the narrative for them, or both. I sat through many a training on how to grade, discipline and overall approach minority (especially African American) students differently. The long to short was ‘we can’t expect them to be held to any normal standards so just lower the standards for them.’ It was maddening. If you bring up how racist that is then enjoy your extra sensitivity trainings.

Yup, so many idiots are quick to jump on every nugget they get. Got to wonder as more and more media corporations and individuals get sued over slander and lies if we might see more of a return to respected journalism? CNN, WaPo, and NBC all settled out of court with Sandmann over their "coverage" of the 2019 DC event. Na...it'll never change, the outrage drives clicks.

The practice really is dangerous though. I'd bet those officers have received and will continue to receive death threats because once the bogus info is already out there it might as well be permanent for some people. The outrage reaches more people than the truth.
