How REAL MADRID of all clubs (The Kings Club) can cry foul over a highly publicized transfer not going there way is hilarious. They have been handpicking Europe’s elite talent, and manipulating the transfer market for going on three decades. What a joke of a club to be crying foul this publicly. Sad

Happy Final day of the PL season everyone. Will feel way more comfortable for the three points if Stones and Walker are on that team sheet. Time will tell on that one

Nah the point they make is valid. What PSG is doing is what destroyed one of the Spanish giants, Barca. For these state backed clubs to get away with it is ridiculous.

What did they do that’s so over the top comparison to Real’s history?? I honestly haven’t followed it too much

All I can say is that PSG pipped them by going all in on one player. I think RM had already sold a player or two to make some cap room and them PSG upped the offer.

They’re alleged 700$ million in losses over the last 3 years, and have a wage bill already north of 300$ million a year. Mpabbe’s deal is allegedly over ~300$ mil over 3 years: $124 mil signing bonus, 5$ mil monthly wages.

*idk where 700$ Million in losses comes from, but that was the Real Madrid quote. They have 348$ over the past two seasons according to wiki, which means they must have equaled that this past season alone.

Ok, I do have to say, Real of all teams complaining does make me roll my eyes,…
I used to hate them, and still do. But with this new wave of state backed teams, and super PL teams I tend to root for them a lot more these days. Basically the lessor evil.

This is setting up for a late Liverpool goal for the title. Look like the team of destiny this year.

I want Liverpool to win the PL, but only if they don’t also win Champions league. This thread will need to be locked if that happens.

“I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life, we’ll the last 4 years I started following football. It wasn’t easy being a Liverpool fan, I mean I only chose them because they’re the most successful European team from the biggest league in Europe, so it was a tough choice. But wow, man, right now, with the quadruple in the bag, I am such a better human being than you”.

Lots of posts considering soccer ended a couple weeks ago
So glad with Celtic locked in Champions league next year, I don’t have to worry about which super team to root for. Celtic champions league winners 2023 locked in.

Reports are Leeds already finalizing Brendan Aaronson. I think 30$ million is whollly too much for him, but he’s got the mentality and pace to fit in perfectly in the premier league. With him and Bamford back and healthy, Leeds should have a solid shot to finish no worse than mid table.

Newcastle nearly finishing top ten after the start they had is pretty remarkable. Hopeful and fairly confident the trend continues. Would like to see a CL run next season,… we will see. It’s coming, even if next season is too soon

Sorry, but that was exciting as hell. I know this is basically a Liverpool thread but I’m glad Everton are staying up and thought their fans were great. What’s the point of having relegation if you can’t be excited when you narrowly avoid it?
Different clubs, different mentalities I suppose. Not a huge fan of pitch invasions. Takes a couple of morons to ruin it for everyone.

Everton staying up is good for the city of Liverpool, for certain.

I think CL is a lot to ask of them despite them having a hell of a run since January. 6-10th might be more realistic. It depends on how they go about this. If they use their resources and build naturally within the rules it could be something special. From what I can tell, the front office and back room hires they are making and or will attempt to make seem like they're doing the right things. They took a couple of very good analysts from Liverpool and have targeted scouts with high reputations.

Or they could end up like Everton if they aren't careful.

Speaking of which, congratulations ot the Man United and Everton supporters on City winning the league today.

Leeds lost a lot of games from a lot of players to injury this season. That and Bielsa not being willing to adjust nearly cost them.

I'm glad they're staying up and I'm glad it was an American manager that was able to help keep them safe.

So the Prem next year will have Fulham and Bournemouth back, with Nottingham Forest playing Huddersfield for a spot. Really hope Forest can pull that one off. Those fans have been through it the entirety of the 2000s.

Feel bad for Burnley. Sounds like relegation is leaving them in some dire finances.

I'm sure Watford will yo-yo back up.

I for one hope we don't hear from Norwich City again.

I was looking at the Championship table recently and was shocked to see a number of former EPL teams that were mid table or worse. I mean... wow:
10. West Brom
14. Stoke City
15. Swansea
19. Hull
23. Derby County

These teams have all had multiple EPL appearances in the last decade. There may be more but Im just not remembering the years they were up. Blackpool was up around 2010. Cardiff was up and back down in 2018-2019

The gap between being 15th and in the promotion playoff is pretty crazy thin though. Championship is an absolute grind. I suspect we will see Watford and West Brom back up sooner than later.

Derby County is actually a pretty incredible story this season and a great job by Wayne Rooney. They were penalized 21 points I believe, lost countless players because they couldn't sign new contracts, and still managed to get to what would've been 55 points if not for the penalties. Sad what's happened to them, but Wayne Rooney appears to have a bright future managing.
