That’s a baloney comparison meant to diminish the huge issue of Hunter Biden and Joe Bidens financial benefits tied to selling access to the White House. No comparison.

They finally verify the story and still crickets.

Which laptop is more dangerous…Ginni’s or Hunter’s? Never mind, I just remembered: it depends on if the person being asked the question is a Republican or a Democrat.

They're both pretty scuzzy, don't you think?

I would venture to say Hunter and his President father having to lie about their business dealings to win a presidential election and potentially cover up some shady business dealings that could compromise the white house and Americas interests is a bit more scuzzy than a SCOTUS having a wife with a political opinion.

Especially now that we even see Klain dipping into the Hunter pot. Weird how the media can’t be troubled with this.

Not terribly surprising.

This was a lot easier when we were electing guys who didn't have adult children. Seems a lot more complicated and a lot more expensive with secret service too. You've got shady sons, shady daughters, shady son in laws whose greatest personal achievement was Chris Christie putting his dad in jail. All profiting off of their name and who dad is. I liked it better when one of the Bush twins got a bit too drinky at a party. Those were the days.

I'm all for anyone that is breaking the law to be held accountable regardless of party. Not that anyone here would believe me. It's entirely possible that Joe had nothing to do with his son's shady dealings and that his son may not have broken any laws just as it's entirely possible JCT was not at all aware of what his wife was texting on January 6th and thus didn't recuse himself from a case involving January 6th where he was the lone dissenting vote on the court.

Surprising.

It would be surprising if these were the people asking about boofing in the yearbook and citing Avenatti in primtime for fake gangbang allegations, but that’s the other side. Don’t recall the last lib nominee with mass opposition from the right.

Clean water makes you weak. Clean water is for cowards.

That ain't what the Supreme Court's decision was but d'ohkay.

A word for the wise...Mark Stern is an idiot. There are actual smart people who aren't clickbait that can offer commentary in good faith regardless of political leanings.

Defending the integrity of the Supreme Court isn't exactly political lmao.

I'm curious though.... are you telling a man to bring his wife to heel? Like children, women should be seen but not heard?? I knew you were old but times have changed my guy.

Surprising.

But not surprising when you look at the entirety of American history.

The traditional ethic was "advice and consent."

It is only recently, toxically, that is has become

SUBSTITUTE MY JUDGMENT FOR A DULY ELECTED PRESIDENT's judgment

I have not the time to research the numbers but traditionally Justices have been confirmed by significant majorities.

The sadness of America is this infantile

liberal conservative
republican democrat
blue red

nonsense

It is a false and deleterious divide.

We are all Americans

And until the sheeple stop accepting stupid labels we are screwed.

“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”

Didn’t the Kavanaugh and Barrett nominations get pretty close and go along party lines for the most part?

Yes and Barrett's circuit confirmation was disgusting.

Kavanaugh faced gang rape accusations.

This woman got questioned on her judicial record. Whether that was fair or not is another discussion. But the shit Kavanaugh and Barrett went through were magnitudes more than this lady did. She got questioned on the sort of things that you are supposed to ask a nominee about.

Thats not to say there was not Republican grandstanding...but I am okay with that. The way Thomas and Kavanaugh were treated...horrific and embarrassing. I would be more than happy to debate the Kavanaugh one with anyone.

You must emulate Cory Booker to not be too harsh. Anything short of kissing her toes is a Spartacus moment.

Can we also acknowledge how anytime Lindsey Graham does anything libs don't like they call him a home but meanwhile Cory Booker is never called into question? The performance he gave in the Keg City hearings is simply not possible unless he has a limp wrist.

The history is instructive and IMPEACHES the current silliness about
left/right
red/blue

Richard Milhous Nixon
Burger 74-3
Haynsworth(L) 45-55
Carswell (L) 45-51
Blackmun 94-0
Powell 89-1\
Rehnquist 68-26

The examination of the Nixon nominees is fascinating..

For the ones he got approved his "Margin of Victory" was over 73 votes.

And, while they may have been before your time, there were issues with both Haynsworth and Carswell.

Given the current toxicity, I am not confident that this country can return to those days.
Because of posting limits, I have to do each modern presidency individually. So please be patient

Gerald Rudolph Ford
Stevens, 98-0

Ronald Wilson Reagan
O'Connor 99-0
Rehnquist 65-33
Scalia 98-0
Bork (L) 42-58
Kennedy 97-0
George Herbert Waker Bush
Souter 90-
Thomas 52-48 (Anita Hill impact)
William Jefferson Clinton
Ginsburg 96-3
Breyer 87-9
George Walker Bush
Roberts 78-22
Alito 58-42
Barack Hussein Obama
Sotomayor 68-31
Kagan 63-37

When Scalia died with 11 months left in Obama's second term, his nominee was pocketvetoed by the Senate Majority Leader.
that was unprecedented and was a regrettable "line in the dirt."

The "Anita Hill" impact had a lot more to do with replacing Marshall with Thomas than it did with a word she said.

He was never gonna get many votes.
