The soft tyranny of low expectations.

And incorrect.

I have a book recommendation for you:

"Slouching toward Gomorrah" Interesting Author.

Meanwhile you are "Leading the nation in excuses" I once hear Digger Phelps say that at an ND hoops practice.

But you are incorrect and fact devoid.
I'm 100% correct and quite factual. You can find lowlifes in any walk of life. Cherry picking them in one field or from any one area is very uninformed.

Couldn’t find any real cause (for now)?

Apparently Harsin pretty much refused to cooperate in Auburn's investigation into wrongdoing, including having an affair with a staffer. Since they couldn't prove it and they can't nail him for lying (he essentially pled the 5th), they can't really fire him for cause. Firing him for doing a crap job would mean they have to pay him a big buyout, and they're already feeling the pinch of having to do that for Gus. They've got a dysfunctional situation going on in their athletic department and booster organization. Very fractured and full of opposing factions and big egos who all hate each other's guts and do everything they can to undermine and oppose the others, which all leads to some really bad decisions and coaching hires. It's a hot mess down there. Of course, as a Bama fan, this is like watching your enemy step on his own junk over and over. It's glorious!

According to Stewart Mandel, it was a smear campaign:

A week ago, Auburn's president told the board they were "trying to separate fact from fiction" re: Harsin rumors.

Today's news suggests they never found a smoking gun, which means someone (boosters) orchestrated a smear campaign against him b/c they wanted him fired.

Shameful.

Auburn is a joke. Sounds like career suicide. Mason found out the hard way and bailed.

They want this guy out so badly, they're going to have a hard time replacing him if the coaching community is aware how screwed up they are behind the scenes. I'm sure they can convince some yokel proxy to come there, but anyone that is doing his due diligence either stays put or goes somewhere else if Auburn comes calling.

I disagree. The Auburn job just became one of the most attractive in the SEC. You can sleep with hot staffers and there's no repercussions!

My sister sent me a meme which I'm unable to post which says, "My favorite college football rivalry is Auburn vs its own boosters." Pretty accurate.

UGA has hired Fran Brown from Rutgers as their DB coach. Excellent recruiter who was the first guy Schiano hired when he went back to Rutgers. Very good hire for them.

Yeah, how happy is Juwan Howard right about now?

Ole Miss hired Purdue special teams coach Marty Biagi. Have to say, Kiffin has put together a pretty solid staff. The Marquel Blackwell hire was a very good one and Biagi is a solid get as well.

McNulty reportedly wanted Del at BC and got shot down by Hafley.

Art Briles is out at Grambling after only a few days. There was so much negative reaction to his hiring that he and Grambling decided to reverse the decision to bring him onto the staff as OC.

Just read an article where admin were aware of his past when they hired him. I guess they didn't expect such much blow back.

UTSA co-defensive coordinator Rod Wright has joined the Miami staff as defensive ends coach.

Excellent hire for the Canes.

September 17th at Texas A&M should be a pretty good indicator of where they're at.

Not sure where else to put this, but Auburn pushed out their AD in what I guess is some sort of fallout for the Bryan Harsin mess and Kevin White has OPINIONS.

Allen Greene is a ND dude and highly respected. Was on a path that would've led to consideration to succeed Swarbrick. Not sure if him being pushed out at Auburn really changes anything.
