If we strike out on elite QBs, it certainly won't be for lack of effort

Recruiting wise, I believe he was thought to favor OU at one point. Washington/Oregon are definitely in there. Lot of new schools coming in recently including Clemson is in the “close” category with us, even though Dabo is selling Vizzina on being their only target.

If Moore doesn't work out, I'd go here.

I like his film better than all the Plan A / B guys.

The reality is there are only so many elite QBs to go around. Way fewer than there are programs that expect to land one every year. And this cycle every top 10 QB on 247 except for Moore comes from the Deep South or Texas or California (mostly public schools in California, not the SoCal Catholics) These are all going to be tough pulls.
Which is not an excuse, or a reason we can't land one. But if we don't it won't be some epic failure so much as a sign of how hard it is. Also it's telling that Avery Johnson - our "fallback" who we've not yet offered - is the #11 QB recruit in the country. Maybe we should lock him down while we still can? (and keep chasing Moore who feels like the most realistic of the "elite," for us).

Yeah I imagine if there was a 5 star QB from Indiana we would be a lock to land him right?............

According to On3, Brady Allen is only 8 spots from being a 5* and he was a lock

Gunner Kiel tho.

Indiana, whatever. There's a bunch of places where Notre Dame rings out. But who was the last QB who came to Notre Dame from SEC country? Jarious Jackson? Yet that and California is nine of the top ten. Again, it's not impossible. It's just an uphill battle.

Yeah that's who I was referring to lol.
Gotcha... he was a lock if offered but wasn't a lock cuz Tommy struggles understanding the importance of locking down the gimme's early and continuing to recruit the elites until ESP/NSD.

He has an offer.....

Also, I dig this kid and Tommy needs to get on him NOW. Only thing I didn't see (less 1 play) was his running ability, but talk about a cool customer! Pretty big arm, good size, presence. If Arnold was still in the fold, I would prob rank them as:

1) DMoore
2A) Arnold
2B) Rashada
3) Johnson
4) Vizzina

as the flat earth guys so eloquently said: "and I'm no dummy"

Eh. Kind of
Avery Johnson definitely does not have a committable offer per 247. Also, this kid and that other kid out of Florida are both rising fast. I would say ND should get offers out to both before we get Allared. If Moore pops great, if not, lock it up.

Rashada has been a borderline 5 star for almost a year lol. Plenty of offers as of last summer.

Yeah but not the big boys. He was mostly in on his dad's alma mater ASU before the coaching changes. Bama and Clemson haven't offered yet but seem like they will soon. Ole Miss just offered recently.

Penn St was Allar’s third P5 offer and he had a 87 Rating at the time. Theoretically some similarities to Stokes, not really any to Rashada.

Relevant bump as his top schools are Oregon and LSU it seems. Premium article from Biggins with a hysterical quote about QB development and BK:

"Brian Kelly is a great head coach and the quarterback development there is crazy," Rashada said. "They have four coaches that work specifically with the quarterbacks so you know how important development is there.

Rashada will be back at both Oregon and LSU for officials.

Even before the LSU BK era started…….the QB development/performance has been well below par for quite some time (with the exception of Joe Burrow, of course). Makes one a bit bleary eyed trying to understand how anyone could say that the QB development there has been anywhere near good, let alone crazy!
