Hire an ace recruiter. RB is probably the easiest position to coach. Recruit the position well and let the players make the coach look good.

Yep. A good experienced o-line coach like Hiestand can actually coach RBs on how to follow their blocks / where to run a bit, and definitely coach them on how to pass protect. WR coach can teach RBs how to run good routes. A decent GA can work with them on ball security.

Since you only sign 1 to 2 RBs a cycle, RB can help recruit a few other guys. Recruiting ability should definitely be a priority for this position.

Hansen hearing Michael Pitre (Bears formerly Oregon St) and Deland McCullough (IU) are interviewing for RBs next week

Would love for ND to get McCullough- where did he coach before IU?

Is Belk still a candidate for the DC?

Three years as RB coach for the Chiefs. USC in 2017. Five years at IU before that. Impressive resume.

Doesn't look like Golden is going to be preparing for the Super bowl so he should be able to interview soon

He's been fun to have on staff but shouldn't be that hard to fill.
Would agree under normal circumstances, but this staff is already VERY inexperienced with the exception of TE and OL and now we're about to lose one of em.

If McNulty just wants the cash I’d guess Rees will go to bat to match it. If he wants the job itself he’s probably gone tomorrow.

McNulty is Rees’ right hand, his guy. I could see a title thrown his way if needed.

Actually quite a bit of recruits say how much they like him, he is well liked by players even on the d side... According to different things I have heard...

I guess I'm talking in terms of the position itself. Yes I think he's done great and he's great. I'm just saying tight ends isn't too hard to find someone. Hopefully get an elite recruiter with some experience to tag team with HH

This is what happens at top programs. Good coaches get promotions. Saban replaces basically his entire staff every few years.

Similar to how ND is dealing with elite commits taking other visits, this is a good thing. Both are signs of a good program. Three stars commit to ND and don’t take visits. Five stars don’t play that. Average coaches stay at ND until they’re forced out; good coaches take promotions.

Marrow has basically perfected the recruit under OSUs nose playbook but has he actually produced TEs? Maybe good blocking TEs but I can’t recall a standout UK TE

I thought McNulty (who was up in the box last year) was a good candidate to come down to the field to fill the Lance Taylor role and be the on-field communicator to the offense with Rees assumingly still calling plays from the box.

Chansi Stuckey is too young. Harry Hiestand is too hell fire and brimstone. You want an experience calm guy to be talking to your offense during time outs and breaks.

Hopefully one of the new hires for RB or TE coach can fill this role. Assuming McNulty leaves.

I’m glad hockey has been captivated this season,…. It takes my focus of this off-season and the baseball pissing contests

Tight End U will be alright. Plenty of candidates from the NFL and college will come forward, quietly. Shouldn’t be difficult getting a great replacement.

They shouldn’t have any trouble finding good candidates but the concerns about experience are legit. Really young staff.

This hiring cycle is as crazy as I have ever seen with the ripple effects on staffs. Staff stability appears to be a fleeting thing throughout the sport. I suppose early signing day being put into place opened the door to this kind of musical chairs - not sure that you would have seen this if signing day was only in February.
