Sounds like stepping away from football as a whole

Yeah, I'm hearing rumors out here in Utah that it is church related. Probably going to be a leader in a state/country in charge of missionaries which would be a 3 year commitment if he accepts it.

If that is true, that is extremely noble.

Does anyone else find it curious that with all the jobs floating around, big money circling, that the douche bag in Mississippi is still there? You have to believe that if Oklahoma, USC, LSU, ND, or Florida wanted his dumbass he would have already been loading the moving truck. I can't imagine the carpetbagger of college football would be so committed to holding out for the possible change of Miami coming open late.

He's also been trolling the Twitterverse by posting pics related to schools with job openings. I doubt Ole Miss fans are as amused by this as he is.

Yeah, that makes me just dislike him even more. I think what hurts the most, is I felt sorry for him when the Raiders let him go.

I’ll be honest, I love Lane Kiffin. Not in a way that I think I’d ever want him to be the Dick Corbett Head Football Coach here, but in a way that I think he’s hilarious and incredibly entertaining as a fan of the sport.

Agreed, him and Leach are great. Wouldn't want either at ND, but love that they are in CFB

I respect both of your feelings for the Kiffin train. I don't deny he is a capable coach. I just think he lacks the qualities to admire in a life form. Kind of like Trash Pandas and Skunk Bears.

He has to be wanted by someone first. Right now Ole Miss wants him and as far as we know, that's it.

I'm wondering how good that Miami job is anymore. Shannon, Golden and Richt all had winning records. The first two got fired and Richt stepped away. Shannon had to clean up the trainwreck Coker left behind, which he did off the field, but it wasn't enough to their liking because he didn't win enough games. The campus and stadium are a good 45 minutes away from each other. I hear less than wonderful things about the facilities.

He seems to have embraced his role as a villain. As long as he's not coaching my team, CFB is more entertaining with him in the mix.

There will always be tier 3 and 4 programs striving to take the next step that are willing to roll the dice on someone like Kiffin.

I wonder is Lame's next job might not be in college, but in the NFL.

I know with Al Davis no longer living, that decreases his odds, but there might be some other owner out there in the next couple of years that says, "F$ck it, let's get Lane."

I also can't help but wonder if Lame doesn't have his sights set on an NFL job as well, rather than another college job.

Kiffin likely lands one of the top QB transfers and has a shot at Arch. Reason enough to stay potentially. Has things nice in Oxford.

I think Kiffin knows too that most other programs wouldn't put up with his antics like Ole Miss will. Really a perfect job for him.

Almost entirely contingent upon him bringing in Cutcliffe. With Lame being such a prick, and Cut being a nice guy, that is a 50-50 proposition of actually happening.

Lame doesn't see Ole Miss as a destination job and he's proven he is entirely willing to move around.

I wasn't stating earlier that it is very likely Kiffin will be in the NFL, and certainly not even this next season. But due to his ego, his ties, and his lineage, it's definitely something he's at least contemplating, if not waiting for.

Cristobal to Miami is reaching a boiling point, and Utah is licking their lips at this dropping hours before game time, reported big offer from Miami and extension counter by Oregon. We will see soon.

Not joining the ACC regardless but Clemson being down with FSU, Miami etc already down would be a reason not to join the ACC, not to join

The mix of academic institutions is reason to join the ACC. Our previous relationship with them and the fact that our other sports are ACC as well.
Id 1000% prefer to remain Independent forever and hope we do so, but if they (NCAA/CFP) make us join a conference we're gonna curbstomp everyone in theirs.

Cristobol is one heck of a recruiter. In Miami he would probably hurt Alabama and Georgia’s efforts in Florida but leaving the west coast would be a huge benefit to USC.

Right. Clemson would be the only reason to join the ACC right now. If they return to irrelevance, we'd be giving up our independence to join the weakest P5 conference. No thanks.

Hadn’t seen the Vegas part. To me this leaking today, the day of the Pac 12 Championship is for one of two reasons: someone leaked it to fuck with Oregon/Cristobal or he’s picked up talks in the last few days knowing come Saturday I AM OUT. Sounds like might be door #2
