I hope we see him hit guys in stride. It seems like his WRs are stopping/breaking back to the ball on his deep balls. Would like to see a little more anticipation when he lets it go.

Looks really polished and poised for a HS QB. Not any “wow” throws in here but looks to be a great distributor of the football. Still think 90-91 on the 247 scale makes sense for him.

WATCH: Game film of Notre Dame QB commit Steve Angeli (247sports.com)

Brian Dohn from 247 was at his game against Don Bosco. Bergen won 17-0.

When asked if his season has changed his opinion of him. He said no. He noted that in the last 2 games against, by far, the best competition on the schedule, he is 23 of 34 for 238 yards and no touchdowns. He doesn't view him as a NFL QB. There is more to it than that but click the link to get it.

I think Angeli is good. Is he GREAT? Jury is out. I will say though, that even if he threw for no touchdowns in those two games, he still completed 67% of his passes, and threw no interceptions. So he still took care of the ball, won the games, and made enough throws. Obviously, I haven't seen the games to know what kind of passes he completed, but still...

Totally fair observation by Dohn, and one I agree with. I don't think he has NFL potential either.

That said, Notre Dame isn't an NFL team. I don't think Ian Book is ultimately an NFL QB, despite being drafted, and he did very well during his ND career. My hope for Angeli remains that he's a really good backup we're lucky to have on the roster that supports a future NFL QB who is our starter.

Wonder how the Walker Howard call went?

Wanting 2 QB's two years in row is interesting.

Especially with many thinking we're sitting really good with Nico and Dante in '23

IF the Howard thing has legs, Angeli can't stay... can he?

I don't know if we should get this far ahead of ourselves. First of all, the 2nd QB last year shouldn't factor in to any future QB's decision.

Secondly, it doesn't sound like it's a 2 QB class regardless of who they can get. I think it's 2 QB's if they can get an elite guy like Howard.

But to answer the question, I don't see why not. With the new transfer rules and recent success (or lack thereof) of high profile QB's at ND, hopefully he can see the benefit in sticking around for a at least a couple years to see what comes of the depth chart.

Pretty glad to have this kid on board. Hopefully he has a smooth transition to the college game and proves a lot of the naysayers wrong. Watching his tape from this year the kid is a pretty good football player. His numbers don't jump out to you but Bergen Catholic is a running football team. Even with that his numbers are steady, and he seems to make good decisions.

Bergen went undefeated in the regular season and plays rival Don Bosco tomorrow in the playoffs. Angeli's highlights are posted weekly on Hudl.

The throw at 15 seconds in against Donovan Catholic was maybe the most impressive throw i've seen him make. Easy 45+ yard flick off his back foot on the money.

BC is having a heck of a season. Good luck to Steve and Jayden in the playoffs. Good luck to Sydir Mitchell as well, really like his game.

247 had him 4th out of 5 but basically said all of the QBs looked good.

I’m not sure what On3’s opinion was:

I watched the other 1v1 clips Singer posted. And wow, Angeli was putting them in perfect spots and full stride for the WRs.

It's definitely better than watching clips and hand wringing about poor accuracy and bad mechanics. He's smooth out there but isn't showing off a rocket.

Game just started on ESPN FYI. Should get decent run. Luther Burden just housed the first play of the game.

I'm one of those guys that thinks Angeli just might be WAY more than how we was "starred"

If we land Dante... he might not see action at ND... but I think this kid is a baller who can do all the things a champ team needs.
