Circa…that you?
Check his google timeline for how many hospitals he visited to count COVID numbers in May 2020.
Circa…that you?
You do realize that you can identify as conservative and vote for a democrat, right? Like that is definite possibility. Hell, I was a registered member of the CPC. I know Lax mentioned he was registered Republican.
What's even more telling is the voting statistics, 47% of ND's males (kind of bizarre to disregard women....) voted for Clinton. The only STEM major that had a higher share of Trump votes than the 28% figure, was business at 36%. Ironically, science was lowest of the STEM majors at 21.3% - go figure.
Including women in the calculation, shows that ND's student body is actually more liberal than conservative without taking into account people in the middle.
Yes, it's common sense. Just take a look at what happens in the public Covid thread when the right-wingers make an appearance. Immediate shaming, while everyone gets to hide in this thread while patting themselves on the tushy about how right they are.
Yes, the average ND alum POV is far away from this tiny Tucker Carlson-auditioning thread. Again, not even remotely controversial if you'd climb out from underneath this moldy rock of a thread.
Another piece of evidence of a shrinking, isolated fringe community is their belief it's not them who's out of touch and they've chased everyone else away due to their facts and argumentative skills. Realize, I don't expect you to agree at all--that's quite literally a founding principle of this thread now.
I've already told you we agree on being out of Afghanistan, yet you keep justifying and defending the cluster fiasco that was the withdrawal. Even Dems are critical of Biden on this, yet here you are saying it's all good. Seems you're the one that is incapable of pushback.
I'll tell you what. Biden could use you on his spin team. I admire your loyalty and willingness to die on that hill.
You do realize that who someone voted for has nothing to do with this conversation at all? Stop viewing the world in the lens of Trump / Not Trump. I am conservative and did not vote for Trump in 2016 (like Lax and a plurality of ND male students in that survey). But shockingly (!!!!), when considering the 2021 withdrawal from Afghanistan, I tend to agree more with posters saying that this was a disaster and a tragedy than those comparing it to a "10-2 season." This is essentially a consensus conservative view from Mitt Romney to Ted Cruz.
The subtext of Rocket's posts is that his political worldview is inarguably correct and that the vast majority of people with an education worth a lick of salt (specifically from ND in this case) agree with him. That's completely unfounded.
I didn't include women in my post because I was responding to Rocket's assertions about the ND alumni that theoretically post on this message board. If you can point me to a single female on here then I stand corrected.
As a Christian who embraces much of Roman Catholicism, I respect the current choice for Liaison with the Vatican.
Patrick Connell is the charge d'affaires.
The previous occupant was a direct and unequivocal slap in the face to the holy See and the Vatican.
It was a woman who had a six year affair with a married man.
Christ was unequivocal about adultery.
Adultery and divorce are not permitted for Christians
Christ said so, repeatedly.
And I have not voted for a divorced person since 2012.
And I will never vote for a divorced person again.
The China issue.
This will not end well for the China haters, but too bad, the truth sets you free.
China has a culture which dampens narcissism (ask Jack Na)
China has a culture which emphasizes family
China is not obsessed with weapons, only with education
China doe not legalize cannabis
China does not have Wall Street.
China does not have its nose stuck into other countries and sends goods and services, not troops.
And China does not have most business answer "Your call is very important to us, but due to unusually high call volume.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,"""'
And then there is this:

Statistics are chilling.
Look at the growth rates starting in 1963, some 58 years ago.
You know what they say on Wall street, don't fight the tape.....

China has two stock exchanges, of course they have a wall street. China has a culture that absolutely does not emphasize family, think of the importance placed on having a boy. China uses cyberwarfare to stick their noses into other countries.
Romanticizing any culture, or hating a countries culture puts unnecessary nationalistic blinders on.
No they don't have those. They just imprison , put in work camps or just execute anybody that disagrees with the CCP, reports facts that makes it look bad, minorities, and those of faith.
Japan all the way if we are touting an Asian country.
Not a "gotcha!" question. Just some clarification. Do you think adultery is as bad as divorce or worse, and would you vote for an adulterer? What about a person who divorces a cheating spouse? Do you make any allowances for a wronged and cheated upon person to divorce the person who cheated on them and broke their marriage vows?
Circa…that you?
Okay, even if you ask a gotcha..
The reason Christ railed against divorce (four times) and adultery is because there are multiple victims.
consider a couple with two kids
and another couple with two kids.
If someone drops in and commits adultery that is bad.
But if the two married couples have one member each commit adultery, then there are what looks like at least 6 vicitms (maybe more with inlaws)
with Christ, I support divorce for people who divorce on infidelity.
So there is, for me, a carve out for someone who divorces a spouse due to adultery and then remarries.
But you don't get the Liz Taylor, Kardashian, Frank Sinatra, JLo, Joe Scarborough number.
Nope they are out.
On the adulterer? Is there any repentance or quitting.
If let's say candidate A is unmarried, but wants to chase everything in sight, then no.
Bentley, no. no votes for Robert
It absolutely does. The whole point Rocket was making is that it's the same Trump defense crew posting the same cries about Biden, the same ones who defended each action Trump took throughout his presidency. So, yes who someone voted for is material to this discussion. I know you know that survey's with identification or "feelings" based answers will always only be as good as the respondents ability to understand what the criteria is for each answer. 99% of the population knows how to answer when asked who they voted for, asking someone their political ideology is way tougher. Think of all the smooth brains saying shit like "fiscally conservative and socially liberal".
We will disagree on this because my interpretation of Rocket's posts were that ND alums wouldn't go to bat every day for Trump at the same rate we see here, and my interpretation of your understanding of Rocket's posts is that ND alums based on their identification in that survey would agree with your view.

I supported a number of things Trump did, but I also bashed Trump plenty of times and also pointed out numerous times that I didn't vote for Trump. You know as well as I and others that while Trump was in office you and Cack were hammering away on Trump regularly. Yet, here Biden screws up big time and you guys are conspicuous by your absence. It's only natural that the only ones posting right now are those that tilt to the right. It's like the visitors that come to an ND game. They're loud and proud before the game, but come the fourth quarter when all hope has faded, they've exited to the parking lot.
You and I have agreed and disagreed before and I respect you as a poster, but to say it's the same posters who defended each action of Trump is wrong.
Unfortunately this is how politics has worked for some time now. Democrats and Republicans alike scream bloody murder at every potential opportunity to criticize the other side, but when "their side" screws up it is total silence or some scream back "what about...." trying to point when the other side did the same thing.
Democrats and Republicans both demand blind loyalty to their parties President and to the party. Anyone who doesn't fall in line is considered not a real Republican or real Democrat. So we find ourselves blindly supporting policies that we may not agree with because questioning those policies is showing weakness to the other side.
I always get a kick out of those "man on the street" interviews where the interviewer goes to extreme liberal and extreme conservative regions and asks someone about some "terrible" policy that the other parties President implemented. Of course the interviewee responds with extreme outrage only to be told, ummm that was a policy of a former President you likely supported. Oooops.
Man, I am really starting to think the institutions in this country don't give a shit about ordinary people regardless of which way they lean.
I explained why I didn't post anything regarding Biden, the same crew that defended numerous blunders some just down right laughable like the disinfectant one are pounding their chests. They weren't willing to say Trump F'd up, so why does that onus fall on us? Riddle me that.
Trump was my last choice in the 16' caucus. I voted for him twice because of Hillary and Joe and courts. He was far from perfect, but I'd take him and this team over this shitshow any day.
I know what you mean. Surely a bunch of Harvard educated lawyers give a flying fuck about the rest of us.
Man, I am really starting to think the institutions in this country don't give a shit about ordinary people regardless of which way they lean.
Hence why Trump added a Notre Dame lady and a Yale man! Diversity! Notre Dame getting a justice is a big f'ing deal. But in all seriousness...less than 10% of judges went to Harvard and while I'm not positive, I think that number is only going down. Something like 50% went to top 20 schools.
Idk about the rest of the country, but back home our federal judges are local guys with local educations. Sounds like that might be the case from the above stats.
Seems a bit odd to complain that judges don't care though. Sotomayor spoke at my school during 1L. I'm sure she has her speech delivery down pat by now, but she sure seemed to care about folks.
Check out Barrett talk about her life and experiences sometime. You'd have a hard time telling me a lady with her career path and family doesn't care about people.
If you haven't watched the documentary on Thomas, I think you'd probably appreciate it. These people seem distant and disaffected, but they weren't always judges. They were people once upon a time.
This is the second time you've posted this. You on a crusade?
Thanks for the answer. I'm with you on most of this. I agree that adultery is a horrible thing and often harms a lot more than just the injured spouse. I'd have a hard time doing business with, befriending, or hiring an adulterer. You can't keep the most important vow of your life, why should I ever trust you? Your character is lacking and your word is worthless.
Starting to think? LOL - welcome to Earth.
Evil ACB is ND law school educated - one of my favorite things about her is she broke the Ivy stranglehold of the top court in the land. Disappointed her and Kavanaugh aren't more conservative but the thought of Hillary placing those spots instead makes me want to drink Drano. Hell, Merrick Garland was promoted as a "moderate" - God help us if he was tipping the scales. Trump put a list of potential nominees out - thought all politicians should do that.
