This would be a huge pickup, I love his film. He has really good speed (testing should confirm this - 40, shuttle, vert).

Would be stoked if he is one of the three WRs we take. Now add Redding to the group and we'll have one of our best WR groups of the Kelly era. I hope we save room for the speedy Hawaiian WR as well.

I wonder if Roman Wilson and Watts are competing for the same spot? Seems like Roman could get a spot as a slot/return man.

right now I feel like the staff wants to land Redding, McMillan, and Watts. And they have Roman on speed dial ready to offer in case one of those 3 ends up elsewhere

So I just posted in Derrick Davis' thread that Matt Freeman predicts Davis to ND but scrolling down in the FB Group posts he also said (according to this) that he expects Xavier Watts to not just be Irish but that the staff is all over him as if he's an immediate take.

Wow if that's accurate. I tried to find this info on ISD but couldn't but I 100% believe anything that comes from that Group because it's members are legit.

Watts is scheduled to visit next week on a Wed or Thurs w/o looking. If he's this close, is it possible he might commit? I figured with Frost back in Lincoln there was no way any ND level kid would get out of Nebraska.

His film is impressive and I think his offers are okay (ND, UM, and Wiscy). Plus I’m sure being from Nebraska doesn’t help.

I don’t think he went to The Opening St. Louis but he did do the Rivals St. Louis camp this weekend and wasn’t mentioned in the top performers. He’s definitely underrecruited in that he’s got 14 FBS offers which isn’t a homerun considering Michigan and Notre Dame are the only big time offers there. I would normally say he’s hurt by being from Nebraska but he’s at Burke HS which had Chris Hickman and Nick Henrich from the 2019 class there. Heinrich was heavily recruited and offered by 20+ schools from around the country so if any high schoolers from Nebraska would be recruited and evaluated it would be Xavier Watts and he’s got not much more than Big Ten offers. Idk much else than that in regards to his rankings are talent.

The staff has him at the very top of their board for WRs. That's been stated by multiple outlets and many people have said he's significantly better than his ranking.

He appears to have an extra gear after the catch and he tracks the ball well. I like everything about his highlights.

Apparently he was only so so at the camp. Wasn’t great at getting separation and dropped some catchable balls.

That's disappointing, hopefully he gets another camp opportunity to show it was just an off day. Maybe I've been dup'd but his highlights sure look good.

I guess if we’re offering Watts a spot in our small, crowded class then the staff has seen enough that they know they want him. An off day at a high profile camp may actually be a good thing if it keep him from getting a flood of big-time offers.

Of those schools, only Nebraska and Michigan give me even the slightest concern. If he's up for leaving Nebraska, it feels like he's ND's for the taking.
