So I just posted in Derrick Davis' thread that Matt Freeman predicts Davis to ND but scrolling down in the FB Group posts he also said (according to this) that he expects Xavier Watts to not just be Irish but that the staff is all over him as if he's an immediate take.

Wow if that's accurate. I tried to find this info on ISD but couldn't but I 100% believe anything that comes from that Group because it's members are legit.

Watts is scheduled to visit next week on a Wed or Thurs w/o looking. If he's this close, is it possible he might commit? I figured with Frost back in Lincoln there was no way any ND level kid would get out of Nebraska.

Bryan Driskell loves loves loves this kid and thinks he’s a big time, top of the board target so maybe he is a big time prospect. He has 13 FBS offers with most of them being regional as he has yet to blow up nationally.

https://247sports.com/college/notre-dame/Article/Xavier-Watts-to-visit-Notre-Dame-Michigan-Nebraska-and-Wisconsin-130837244/

4/6 Wisconsin
4/10 Notre Dame
4/13 Nebraska
4/20 Michigan

Btw, the reason I posted the pic above is to illustrate that Watts played on the same high school team as Chris Hickman and Nick Burke. I do think ND has a solid shot, but the pull from Nebraska is going to be huge.

Long story short, I’m not the best at analyzing video and saying who is better but if Driskell likes him that much and it sounds like the coaching staff likes him a great deal then I guess he’s a solid prospect. Jordan Johnson, AJ Henning, Jalen McMillan, and Michael Redding excite me more from their offer lists, videos and their rankings, but I suppose if the staff likes Watts then he’s worth a spot.

Is he like a Henning type speed guy? Need to watch his film yet

I see that Michigan offer but otherwise on paper he looks like a tiny, three-star, regional prospect at a position where we've got much bigger fish on the line.
Any particular reason the staff loves him so?

I think his defensive highlights look more impressive than his work at WR. Do we know if he's being offered as a WR?

247: NR
Rivals: 5.6
ESPN: NR

He really hasn't been evaluated yet by recruiting services.

4/14 The Opening Regional St. Louis
5/11 Rivals adizero Combine Chicago
5/19 Rivals 3 Stripe Camp St. Louis

I imagine Watts will probably head to a camp or two to compete with the best of the midwest. Not that those camps are the most important things, but you can get an idea of how some guys compare physically to the best of the best in the country. Rankings will change in June after those camp series are finished and again after the big combines in July I believe. There's a long way to go in terms of how rankings will be for these kids.

A couple of posts from the Master thread.

Xavier Watts looking to visit ND again and called the Irish "one of his dream schools" per ISD. Visited for the Stanford game last season. Teammate of Irish LB offer Nick Henrich who signed with Nebraska.

Jr Stats = 14G ... 67 rec ... 1100 yds ... 14 TD

<iframe class="twofourseven-embed" style="max-width: 100%" frameBorder="0" width="600" height="200" src="https://247sports.com/PlayerSport/Xavier-Watts-at-Burke-222429/Embed/"></iframe><script async src="https://assets.247sports.com/Scripts/SkyNet/Shared/embed.js" charSet="utf-8"></script>

Xavier watts offered.

Besides the offensive stats above he added 5 Int and a P6 on D.

Past comments on II seem like he is an immediate take as well.

until he commits to ND he is a husker all the way, not for one second will I believe that one of the best instate talents will not pick the huskers.

There used to be a time when the top talent in Indiana automatically went to ND. Nebraska used to be in the same situation. Now they have to fight for it.

Notre Dame happens to be in Indiana (which is also close to Ohio State, Michigan, etc). The Huskers ARE sports in Nebraska (which is in the middle of nowhere, competition-wise). It’s a little different.

After watching his film I agree with Pops. His defensive film seems better than offense. Takes good routes and tackles in space well. Also has good ball skills. Definitely a FS.

With that said, I like him as a WR as well. His route running is very good. He puts a stutter on one of the CBS early in his junior film that is just abusive. I'm betting he has at 4.6 forty if not better. Honestly I would maybe take him at WR as well if Henning don't want in.

This could be a big boost for ND.

Zavier Betts just committed to Nebraska today. Betts is the #1 WR in Omaha. Rivals has him at #46 nationally. No need being the other guy from your hometown when you can go to America's Team.

My sons working in Omaha at the moment. I told him to swing by Burke and drop off a bag for Xavier.

The Xavier Watts visit tour resumed with a trip to Notre Dame on Thursday.

It was great, Watts said. It was great to hear how the coaches really feel about me and how they see me fitting in and all of the other good stuff like the facilities and tradition.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound receiver from Omaha Burke visited Wisconsin last week and will attend Nebraskas spring game Saturday. He will also visit Michigan on April 20.

This was his first visit to Wisconsin and second to Notre Dame.

Two free updates along with a Loy article mentioning he's set up an OV for the big 6/22 weekend.
