I know what you're saying, no doubt Pham and IUB. I didn't quite know the history of that article itself, but at least we can say that it raises some doubts, whether you believe everything you read from there, or you believe that Wallace was puffing up some schools while knocking down others.
All I'm saying is, there's just enough doubt surrounding this recruitment that it'd be foolish to say he's a no holds bar lock prematurely. I mean obviously, we know he's made a choice by now, but there's been just enough info thats pertinent to string along both fanbases. The large majority of information is pointing to OSU, but if he picked ND, Buckeye fans can't say they never would have seen it coming in a million years. Thats all I'm getting at, that a lot of the things he has said are subject to interpretation.
I think he's a Buckeye, but we've all been wrong and/or mislead in the past at some point.
GD3- Exactly the point I made earlier in the day. Too much conflicting info to say he is a lock one way or the other, which is what amazed me about the reaction on the ND message boards to word of Sweat's impending announcement. Your saying that you think he's a Buckeye is your opinion based on what you have seen, and that is a fair opinion, the comments that I was talking about, and I made that clear in my earlier post, were the one's that said Sweat is an OSU lock, or ND's chances were 1 in 200. Unless Andrew Sweat has personally told you that he is a Buckeye, there is no way that after digesting all of the information on the Sweat recruiting saga that a reasonable person could say that Sweat is a Buckeye lock, or that ND's chances are 1 in 200. As far as I can remember, I have not actually seen those type comments from anyone on Irish Envy, most have been like yours, that you think he's a Buckeye. The closest would be Marv willing to bet his left nut on it, but my sources tell me that Marv has 2 left nuts anyway, so he can spare one if he is wrong.
BTW, just to clarify my stance, I have never said that I believe Andrew Sweat will commit to ND, I have only said that since it came down to ND and OSU that we have a chance, and we will have that chance until Sweat informs us otherwise. If you look at the very first page of this thread, I said that IMO Sweat would be a tough pull from the Big 10. That was based on Andrew's comments much earlier in the recruiting process, long before he got into hot water over the Golf Cart Tour article, and others that were published in March. However, I would be thrilled if my initial opinion and the opinion of the majority of ND fans was incorrect, and that Sweat surprises everyone tomorrow. Shock and awe, baby, shock and awe!
