This kid is a total ND Recruiting Coup. I mean it. I talked to several who have seen him in the flesh and believed the only reason he wasn't a top nationally ranked recruit is because he is just going into his junior year.
This kid will blow up this year.
And you know the two most interesting things about him. He is actually being actively recruited by D1 defenses to play at all three levels : rush end, outside linebacker, and strong safety! This must influence the strength of his offer list , currently.
The kid is 6'3" and a legitimate 210 as of this spring. He has that scary explosiveness. And decent strength.
So the one thing that is interesting about this kid is his incredible versatility (hats off to the staff again!) The other thing is his effect on linebacker commitments in the '18 class. As of now the staff can watch the kid from Pa, the kid from In, and the kid from Toledo, (who is getting daily calls from Urban Meyer.)
Damn... go walk the dogs and all hell breaks loose!
Crusader is I.E.'s version of Jake Brown
Nah... it will only happen once with me. The guy from the Korean BBQ just left with the dogs.
ESPN left him off their first 300.
Sleepin' as usual.
3. Farmington Hills Harrison 2018 OLB/DE "ATH" Ovie Oghoufo
Overview: The Notre Dame commit is a jack of all traits for the Harrison Hawks. Oghoufo possesses game-changing abilities on both sides of the ball. On defense, Oghoufo is just as dominant as a down lineman at DE or as an OLB and then he doesn't skip a beat on offense as a receiver. Oghoufo committed to Notre Dame over 19 other schools.
Analysis:
Jeff Corrion - "At this point in time, it appears the best fit on the next level for Oghoufo is OLB, as his 6'3" 210 lbs-ish size is an ideal fit, but he very well could develop into a DE. What makes Oghoufo so special is athletism to allow us to have these debates of where he'll dominate at in the future."
Evan Paputa - "Oghoufo is an ultra-athletic outside linebacker that moves really well from sideline to sideline. He has above average coverage skills that are safety-esque."
Branden Hunter - "From first glance, Oghoufo does not look like a linebacker. He still has a slim build, but is a sideline to sideline player, and will come up and hit you. As athletic as a linebacker you will see,"
With what I think what the rover position is supposed to be and do, Ovie would be a great rover IMO
