Good stuff. Copper mug?

Going to northern MI with the family in a few weeks and going to make some Moscow Mules so good to know!

Founders Devil Dancer for me.

Wow, Bottle Logic HazeShift is awesome. Reminds me of how Alpine used to taste like. If anyone in the OC area, grab this beer while it still in rotation.

Sounds awesome.

The former was decent; first biere de garde I've tried, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

The latter was incredible. Not as life-changing as Sang Noir, but on par with Apricot Ale for quality. Can easily see how people get addicted to these sours. Stupid expensive, though.

Yup. Them sours will get you, but luckily JK has small sample pours, which is a good size for me and means that I don't need to worry about buying up bottles to enjoy their great offerings. Instead I buy them up and use a few as trade bait.

Almanac Sours are calling your name. Tropical Platypus is very good. Also have you had Boulevard Love Child #7 yet?

ETA: The Bruery Tart of Darkness is also available right now and is very good (plus it is rare to get a sour stout).

I know New Belgium isn't "gourmet" beer, but I've grown fond of their IPA's. My wife's ex-husband's second wife (my "wife-in-law" lol) and I both love IPA's and when they visited recently, she brought me a six-pack of Citradelic, New Belgium's tangerine IPA. I really liked it.

I actually recall not minding Citradelic. I find most of NB's stuff to be mediocre, but it was a cheaper way for me to explore styles without breaking the bank. I'd just get a single bottle or cheap 6er of NB, say the Trippel and then based off of what I would taste, I would decide if I wanted to spend more on that style. I've found that I dont' like their beer nearly as much as I used to, but I'll never turn down a trippel or dubbel from them.

I didn't care for the Trippel at all... way too yeasty for my tastes. I tried a Belgian White a couple of years ago and my first thought was, "Whose syphilitic cat peed in my diesel fuel???" I've pretty much settled on IPA's - the hoppier the better - and a few darks.

Uncle Bear's Ocean Beach West Coast IPA. This beer is really not good. I try not to rip on local breweries but this is down right shitty. Oddly I thought that their Tropical IPA was pretty good when I had it last weekend.

Old Pulteney 12yo. A wonderful summer dram. Lots of honeyed malt, slight white fruit and a little saltiness. Some vanilla, oak and a hint of wood smoke.

Fresh ground Starbucks Sumatra via French Press while watching / skipping through my DVR'd copy of the ND-USC game last year. Great way to kick off a weekend.

Victory Berliner Weisse with Elder flower. Pretty good, and works really well on a hot day.
