Instantly one of my faves. Tranquill, Adams, Nelson, Alize, Rochell, Martini and now Ewell. My favourite players. I'm very excited about Pouncy and Robertson too.

Don't try to get on the Von McKinnley bandwagon without submitting a 2500 word essay on why you think you deserve to board The Love Float.

Great addition to this class. It's reasonable to expect him to compete early in his career. Really needed this on the DL.

MTD is actually developing pretty nicley and we need to remember he's a redshirt freshman. He's got the size, it was always going to take him a couple years to reshape his body and get him ready to play at this level so no need to write him off just yet. Mokwuah well as someone told me I'll just keep it out of respect for him but he's struggling mightly. Tiassum I have never understood, I really, really hope we rotate these guys this year and Kelly isn't so loyal to his starters like he has been in the past.

Good I thought I had heard the MDT is developing well and will be a player.

When I think of these guys, I think about depth. In the past, we have always have had guys that we hoped would be studs, with zero potential guys behind them. In the past, we needed guys like Mokuah to produce on game day. We don't need that anymore. We hope those guys take the opportunity to meet their potential, but we aren't hurt if they don't. Getting guys like Darnell allow us to let those guys develop and get top level guys on the field on game day.

Yea, this class needed a DT or two, that could come in and compete right away. Most notably at the NG spot where, at the present, it looks like it could be fairly wide open for Ewell as a sophomore.

Per Keith Arnold :

The 6-foot-4, 295-pounder is a consensus 4-star prospect, a Top 150 player who picked Notre Dame over finalists Michigan, Ohio State, Clemson and Alabama. (That’s the first time I’ve ever typed that sentence.)

Just for perspective.

Does he play the DT spot next to Hinish or is he the better talent at the same spot?

LOL.

Lemming might need to hang it up. Big pick up for ND, but Ewell has a good amount of work to do to see the field.

He is just speaking about talent. Not saying he would perform better than the guys we currently have.

I thought Lemming was talking about 'butt hurt.' Really, a little more negative than I like to spend time contemplating, but in the past decade or so, he seems to be really down on the Irish.

I checked a few other of his recruit quotes for other players from other schools, and this seemed to be an outlier. It immediately struck me as a backhanded complement.

Talk about alienating a new recruit from the rest of the roster! I think the same point could have been made far more tactfully, and I would expect that out of a leading talent analyst in the business . . .

That may be why you thought he overextended GW, and you felt compelled to explain his meaning GK. It was a bit over the top, in a hyperbolic way, and it was a little muddled in intent. Just spitballin' here.

I think he could play both but I view his best position as NG, with Hinish as a 3T. I'd like to add another SDE and obviously a WDE. That way we have some position flexibility with this group. We add Paschal (SDE), then maybe MacCollister also grows into a 3T.

No room for the Easter Bunny. We're gonna add Kaindoh and Echols dag gummit!

That's great to hear. This kid is skrooooong!

Perfect NG for ND DC Dave Aranda's 3-4

I think if I say it enough, it may just come true.
