Big weekend for Jamaree Salyer. Visits ND, gets US Army Bowl invite and is named The Opening Atlanta Regional MVP. Hope he bought a Powerball ticket too.

Top Performers: The Opening Regional in Atlanta

2. Another from Atlanta (Ga.) Pace in Jamaree Salyer, the nation’s No. 1 offensive guard in 2018 per 247Sports was outstanding and earned an invite to the U.S. Army All-America Bowl. Salyer certainly could earn one of those coveted underclassmen invites to The Opening and he was awarded position group MVP honors by the camp staff on this day. Salyer is extremely strong, quick and violent hands and he dictates the play every time with his first step and intelligence. He did his thing against a fantastic defensive line group. Alabama, Clemson and Georgia make up his top group early in the process.

“It’s definitely one of my top schools,” said Salyer. “The academics were incredible. The campus was great. I could really see myself playing there. They have it all.”

“I thought it was really nice and they have a lot tradition,” said Salyer of Notre Dame. “It was incredible. The campus was really pretty and all the buildings looked great and they are making improvements with everything.”

wiltfong and loy both indicated that landing Blount and making moves w/ thomas will only help although bama and georgia have been on him early

Debuted at #9 overall and a 5 star on Scout.

Moved up to #13 overall on 247. Technically a 5 star, just haven't changed it yet.

Just watched his tape, even though he's a wide body he's reasonably athletic, has pretty light feet, and looks pretty polished for a HS Sophomore. He has the mean edge that I didn't see for example in Wyatt Davis. WANT

He might be one of those All-Timers. He won the MVP at his Opening Regional, Top 5 Offensive on a few analysts Opening Finals list and was MVP at another camp like the Rivals or Cam Newton... yada yada yada.

He's already the #2 Comp OL behind Brey Walker as an identified OG at 15 y/o. He could end up the #2 OA in '18 once again, as a guard.

As a guard, could possibly be someone that plays from Day 1, especially if he EE's.

Hopefully he's a fit between the ears.

UGA fans and Andrew Thomas just believe it's a matter of time. Kudos to us hitting Georgia hard this year and getting kids on campus early. Didn't see this a couple years ago

Looked thru twitter and 247 Timeline and have seen that Salyer should be coming in next week. That would make 5 visits to Clemson so far, 3 visits to Notre Dame, and 2 visits to Georgia for what it's worth? Love the hustle out of Hiestand on this one. Anyone with more knowledge than me know if we have a chance on this one? If he were to make it for an OV that would be 4 visits to Notre Dame which probably means a lot of interest.

I think there's no doubt he and HH have a great relationship. You ask if there's a chance... sure. Is it a good chance? No. But you stay in recruitments like this because circumstances change. Let's say Caldwell at Clemson retired and Pittman at UGA got a HC job. It's possible then that Jamaree doesn't care for the new hires and HH snags him.

I guess what I'm saying is don't hold your breath but if you're the guy who plays the lottery when it hits $500m... keep hope alive,

I would be a little surprised if he makes it to campus

Rivals did a interview with him and mentioned visits and ND wasn't even mentioned in the visits or his top schools. Rattled off about 8 different schools. If you were going to visit campus this weekend wouldn't you share that?

"Georgia, Clemson, Stanford, and Ohio State are definitely going to be on the list when I make it later this summer," said Salyer. "I visited Georgia Sunday, I will be at Clemson Tuesday and I will be at Ohio State for their Friday Night Lights camps in July. I am not sure if I will get back to Stanford this summer or not, but I am working on it.

Top schools are
Stanford
Clemson
Georgia
Ohio State

with these under consideration "I am still looking hard at Alabama, Michigan and Florida," said Salyer. "I communicate with coaches from those three schools a lot and all those schools have things I like.

Who knows maybe he does come but I would be surprised.

I'll eat my crow and whoever wants my Vbucks can have him. Real under the radar visit it seems

When you say under the radar, I'm not sure I follow. I think every ND site had this posted at one point or another.
