Didn't we already go over this months ago? It seems pretty obvious that Hillary figured this foreign reporter (read: a guy from a part of the world where women's rights are often nonexistent) basically asked for a man's opinion on the issue.

I give Hillary a 10/10 on that reaction, I would hope anyone who thinks they're being talked down to like that would do the same.

But more importantly, why use this video and hide behind italics when there are so many legitimate criticisms of Hillary?

I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in the 70s. We were certainly proud of our heritage, but we were proud to be American's too. We absolutely LOVED Merica, were US first, and made no bones about it. We were not interested in us against the US, or pushing an Italian way of life. Same way with the Irish hood a few miles away. The old timers that came off the boat typically fought in the wars for the US, and were very prideful people. They, and their children would not take social aid even if they qualified. The family and hood stepped in to help.

I know there are lots of immigrants that come here and love the US, but there are also those that come and are not here to embrace the American Way. They'd prefer to shift the American way and/or take advantage of the benefits of America. Not all, but some.

Uh huh. If you were there in the 1870s you'd have had a different experience.

There was a lot of pain and suffering, and lawbreaking, etc etc that happened before people sorta assimilated and were able to enjoy the post-WW2 American way of life. And the "sorta" is important, because each wave changes the makeup of this country.

I personally define it with an old school attitude. Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness as it pertains to the constitution and the way this country was created. Capitalism with a moral backbone and strong sense of community. The "way" is hard working, honest, law abiding, tax paying, charity giving (as oppose to automatic government charity), nation loving, with a desire to be the best at everything and set a bar for the rest of the world.

In terms of the above, while all of those groups are very different and have their own idiosyncrasies, hard to compare them with the current immigration challenges the US is facing now.

Yeah but I don't think any particular wave of immigrants would have had people listing any of those things as their motivation to come to the US or their goals in some new way of life.

People came here because their existence in their old country was miserable or often life-threatening, and the US offered them an opportunity to escape that. It helps that we had millions or acres of arable land with which to entice them.

From pilgrims practicing silly religions and being basically tossed out of England to various starving immigrants from places like Ireland or Russia, to political refugees from Asia, to the families trying to escape drug wars in Central America...people are all the same, they just want to make a better life.

Not at all. There have been bipartisan efforts to deal with difficult issues such as immigration. The Group of Seven comes to mind. The hang up isn't in the presidency. It's in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives where bipartisan legislation is held hostage by the Far Right. Compromise legislation is frequently stone-walled and prevented from ever getting a vote.

The Republicans had some moderate candidates available and chose the lunatic Trump as their candidate with Ted Cruz as their second choice. More reasonable candidates, like Marco Rubio or Jeb Bush or Rand Paul or John Kasich, received little support. And the Democrats fared no better. They are about to choose Hillary Clinton as their candidate. Could they have chosen anyone more divisive?

So No, it's not whether a D or R comes after their name. It's their willingness to compromise once in office. Can they sit down with the other party and get something done once elected?

Personally, I would have preferred a contest of John Kerry or Joe Biden against Marco Rubio or Rand Paul. But the primary process pretty much guarantees candidates from the extremes of both parties.

It wasn't a "foreign reporter", it was a student. And what difference does it make, in this instance, if there are women's rights issues over there? She is supposed to be America's top diplomat. BE DIPLOMATIC, not a condescending bitch! He also asked what "Mr. Mutombo(?)" thinks. So I am assuming that Clinton was in talks or meetings with others, and the student was asking about those talks.

So when Donald Trump assumes that a judge of Hispanic descent is issuing really wild rulings against him in a lawsuit because he is biased against Trump, he is being racist. But when Hillary Clinton assumes that this student, who lives in a part of the world with different attitudes towards women, asks a question where he gets confused between Bill Clinton and Barack Obama; it is perfectly acceptable, and right and just, to assume that he did so for sexist reasons, and therefore she can be a bitch to him?

I'm not hiding behind italics. I wasn't using italics to joke. I was using them as sarcasm. I think that was pretty obvious to everyone, apparently, but you. And her continual hypocrisy is a legitimate criticism of her. She is the champion of women...................... unless those women have been sexually assaulted by her serial rapist husband. She has the temperament for the job........................... unless you are a student in the Democratic Republic of Congo who is not a native English speaker and so therefore your phrasing might not come across perfectly. She is going to fix the economy........... by putting someone else in charge of it.

I think the issue is she misread what the kid was saying. To me it seemed like it was pretty clearly a case of misspeaking. If he was intending to ask a purposefully sexist question then I wouldn't have an issue with her answer.
