She's been just as bad as he's been. He has a point when he says she's all talk. She made 430k in a tenured position at Harvard. She lives in a mansion. And she tries to complain about how the system isn't fair, especially for students. She deserves to get called out for being a hypocrite, especially if she's seriously being considered for VP.

He attacked her (right or wrong) because she's the strongest Hillary VP candidate who would be able to appeal to Bernie supporters. Might not have been "presidential" for him to do so, but it was smart. People expect these attacks from Trump. And the only people who really care are those who were never going to vote for him in the first place. He baited her into an ugly back and forth, and he's going to win those every time. Rubio found that out the hard way.

430k is usually included in the middle class by Republicans when they are defending their wealthy friends from paying taxes. At least that's what Republicans were saying when Obama said those making less than 250k would not see a tax increase. So are you now saying that those who make 430k are part of the upper class? I have a hunch Elizabeth Warren paid a higher percentage of tax on that 430k than Donald Trump paid on his millions or billions of income. We will never know, because "The Donald" doesn't want the American public to know what he is really all about. Let's see his e-mails.

And finally, Trump attacked Elizabeth Warren because she is one of the biggest threats to his election in the Fall. She has the potential to bring out young college-age Democratic voters in numbers that will rival Obama's ability to bring out the minorities on election day. Trump's personal attacks may fire up his supporters, but it will also fire up a Democratic electorate that is currently sitting on its hands.

I'm just a dumb Hispanic for trump, can you explain to me what that was trying to say in simple English and not rambling elitist lawyer type jargon.

The Atlantic is a center-left publication, and it's articles are generally written at an 11th grade reading level. There's no "rambling elitist lawyer type jargon" in the article I linked above.

Friedersdorf thinks that Trump's success is largely a reaction to PC culture, as many former libertarians and conservatives are driven toward a more identity-based tribalism.

Did I use too many big words there?

Some of those words have more than one syllable so I would say yes.

Here was my one sentence summary of an already easily accessible article:

Friedersdorf thinks that Trump's success is largely a reaction to PC culture, as many former libertarians and conservatives are driven toward a more identity-based tribalism.

26 words, the longest of which--libertarian--comes in at 5 syllables. Let me know where I lost you.

To be fair, that's true for most of us.

Not so, or I'd be wasting my time here. Apologies to TheOneWhoKnocks if the "rambling elitist lawyer" comment was made in jest. I may have read malice into a post that wasn't really there.

You labeled me an elitist. I reacted negatively, for which I apologized in case you were joking. Was your initial comment serious or not? At this point, you seem to just be trolling.

Don't buy the BS Whiskey. While it is true he isn't very bright at all and blames the govt for his fucked up life, he is just trolling the site...namely, me. He actually identifies as White (on this ite anyway), but his dad who he never met is Hispanic so now he is trying to troll me because I actually HAVE been subjected to assholes like him who for some stupid, 1950's reason really are racist.

He is exactly the person that Trump targets when he says he loves the "poorly educated".

Talk to Knocks about any real issues and he either wisely STFU or he insults you. He's perfect for Trump.

The Left started a race war against whites while whites are still the majority. Trump is the reaction to that.

Let me break it down in simple terms what just happened.

You post a PC article, I honestly wanted it broken down for me. I identified as a Hispanic in doing so. why? well because if Dems say a penis is a vagina then I damn sure can claim hispanic. You then turned into the white racist bully because you didn't act very PC. Just the simplest lil thing turned you into a racist. Kind of a joke right, kinda like how everything fucking Trump says makes him a racist a sexist and those other dumb ass phobe names. Oh but wait it gets better cuz captain victim ndinla whos not in la, says I can't be a Hispanic victim cuz my skin is actually white. Fucking white privilege fucks me again.

What? Not sure if you are serious, but this is just an outrageous thing to say. This country has been racist as hell since its founding. The year I was born the voting rights act was signed. A year earlier the civil rights act. And still there is widespread discrimination in many facets of our society. Trump just empowered a bunch of closet racists to come out in the open, just like the good ole days. My son just came home from work about an our ago, and in the grocery store where he works a customer with a MAGA hat on was openly talking about blacks in the most digesting of ways to him. He had never seen or spoken to this customer before today and the conversation was less than a minute before he walked away. He came home a while ago and said he had never seen a person act so blatantly racist in his life.

That's a shame. But your anecdote about one racist at the grocery store is not indicative of a racist country. Straight white males without a bit of hate in their hearts are sick of being called racist, sexist homophobes. Bullshit ideas like white privilege and the oppressive patriarchy are nothing more than tools to silence dissent. People who have less conviction in their principles than I are supporting Trump, even if they disagree with his politics, because Trump stands up and says "fuck that."

It didn't happen in a vacuum. Several posters in this thread how they have been called "illegal" because they don't support Trump or otherwise insulted about their skin color. I've heard way more instances of this sort of hateful rhetoric in the past year than in the 20 years prior. It's happening all over the country. This isn't something the left started. This has been festering under the surface for a long time. Trump is the prick that helped this puss ooze to the surface. I think he calls it Making America Great Again.

I'm not defending racists nor denying that they exist. However, I firmly believe non-racists sick of being accused of racism far outnumber ACTUAL racists, even among Trump supporters. I don't suppose we'll ever get good data on that, since I've never heard of anyone self-identifying as racist on a Gallup survey.

For what it's worth, the most prominent hate group in the country in 2016 is BLM.

Also, being against illegal immigration is not racist. I'm anti-murder and don't especially give a shit what skin color a murderer has. Racism is hatred based on skin color. "Illegal immigrant" is not a race, so even if someone went so far as to hate all illegal immigrants, that's not racist.

When did BLM become a hate group? That seems like quite a stretch. Standing up for oneself after a lifetime of oppression is not hateful ... it's noble and just. Racism is baked into our society that has been dominated by white men throughout the nations history. We see it in our criminal justice system and our prisons, our employment statistics and our poverty rates. If white dudes are upset about people thinking they are something they are not, they should work to change the things that are causing that perception, not the least of which is not supporting a bigot who inflames such resentment. They are getting tiny taste of what black people have been dealing with their whole lives, just like every generation who came before them. I have trouble feeling sorry for thin skinned white men who don't see the irony of their position.

BLM has many characteristics commonly associated with a supremacist group. And supremacist groups generally == a "hate" group by most people's colloquial definition.

Spend ten minutes on Twitter and tell me BLM isn't a racist, hateful bunch of people. Like feminists, racial activists refuse to acknowledge that The Struggle (TM) is over. They won, and we should celebrate that. It's not 1968 anymore. None of these 19 year old hashtavists have been oppressed for even a single second, let alone their whole lives.

Case-in-point about white privilege: Poverty rate among black households with two parents is 7%. Poverty rate among single-parent white households is 22%. When you control for "two parent privilege," white privilege disappears into the aether. Further, black fatherless rates have tripled from 24% in 1965 to 72% today. Are you prepared to defend the position that America is (three times) MORE racist today than it was 50 years ago?
