Born and raised on westerns since the 50's and have always loved them. Saturday morning was one western TV show after another. Interesting to watch westerns like 3:10 to Yuma be remade. I really like them. Special affects today give modern westerns a little advantage over older ones, but you still can't beat movies like "Shane", "Broken Arrow", "The Searchers" and "Fort Apache".

Jungle Book was my first 3D movie and I thought it was really good. The animation looks so real nowadays it's hard to tell it's not real.

Young Guns are probably two of my favorite westerns.

My wife knows like every single word from these two movies...

Yong Guns, Princess Bride, Lost Boys, 16 Candles.. she can just recite them blind basically...

Which pretty much confirms her age with 100% certainty.

Thought for sure you'd have listed the Leone's trilogy or High Plains Drifter. Where's all the love for Clint? :)

On Clint... I freakin love telling my wife, in my best Gran Torino voice:" Go in there a cook me some good gook food." One of my best marriage moments was when my father in law told my wife, 'you tell that white boy of yours you are not a gook, you're a flip!!!"

Just watched "Imitation Game."

Really enjoyed it. Nobody plays "awkward, outcast, genius" better than Cumberbatch.

Also, Keira Knightley.

Watched A Bronx Tale the other night. Great movie. Didn't know till then that it was Deniro's debut as a director. Chaz and Deniro are excellent and play their characters to a T. Love the biker scene.

Chaz had some big balls, making a big move like Sly with Rocky. He refused to sell the rights to the movie without being guaranteed his role. It worked out well for him.

Also, Mean Streets was good. I still prefer I Vitelloni, but Mean Streets definitely has the better soundtrack

Yes he did. Would have loved to see the one man show. Heard he played like 10+ characters.

Enlighten me on making a movie with Rocky... ??

Sly refused to give up the movie rights, because he demanded to play Rocky, even though there was interest in James Caan, Redford, etc. playing him. The studio relented and boom, a classic was made. I highly doubt that the movie would be nearly as good with Redford playing Rocky, though he may be the better actor.

Wait, I know that story, where does Chaz play into this tho, you went from Chaz to this in one sentence... That's where I'm lost.

Chaz wrote A Bronx Tale (semi-autobio). He performed it on Broadway as a one man act, playing 10+ roles. Deniro saw it, and wanted the rights to the story. Chaz wouldn't sell it till he locked up the part.

Just watched the Boxer. Forgot how good that movie is. Terrific acting all around. Not just DDL and Morton. Always loved Brian Cox. Stott was superb.

It's good Chaz stood his ground. I can't see anyone else owning that role more than he did. His performance makes the film.
