Another beer from Jackalope, Blackrocks Gnomas Barleywine.

That one isn't the best but it's a cool can and a new brewery to check off of your list. What did you think? And how about the Blueberry Stout? You can be honest.

Haven't tried that one specifically, but I haven't been disappointed by any of AW's beers yet, so it's probably a safe bet.
It's being released this weekend. I'll share the announcement and description when I get home later.

I thought that Blackrocks Gnomas was pretty good. Not as complex as the best barleywines but the dominant toffee flavor was pretty good. Now the Tres Blueberry was a whole different ballgame. I liked my first couple of sips as it seemed to taste like a chocolate covered blueberry with some roastiness but the overwhelming acidity got to me about halfway through (and it became a little oversweet). Fun to try but I couldn't imagine drinking a 6 pack of that.

Jester King Brewery: Introducing Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co. / Jester King Buford's Roadside Wares

This is the new brew. Inspired by Biere de Garde. Fermented in brandy barrels previously used in a very highly regarded offering, Jester King Repose. Looks like a winner to me.

Also, something I found out last time I went out to JK. The owner is a Domer.

That's interesting. I really like the blueberry stout although I usually only ever have one. Honestly I'm not sure I've ever had two in a sitting. And I'm glad you enjoyed the Gnomas, maybe I'll have to re-visit it. Thanks for the input. You should really drink that Superfluid, I think it's one of Shorts best.

I'm having a Jack's Abby Framinghammer Baltic Porter while I pump all the water out of my yard. This is possibly my favorite Baltic Porter. A must try.

Agreed. The Domer is an old lawyer, class of '02.

It's a shame I didn't win that giant Powerball; I would have liked to buy a small place near JK and make my way over every week.

Imagine if one of us won the Power Ball and shared it with IE's bon vivants. We could all open our own brewpubs, grow gnarly beards and travel the country brewing over-the-top collaborations.

I plan on having it Thursday for the start of the tournament and I am very excited about it. Then again I could have it tonight, since technically it starts today.....

Nah. I'd just move to Florence and come back to my ranch in Dripping Springs whenever I want to stock up on JK. EVERY MANY FOR HIMSELF.

Edit: Y'all would be encouraged to visit of course

I hate the play in games..... but any technicality that results in having a good beer I'm on board with.

New Holland Dragon's Milk Reserve with Toasted Chilies.

Thank you Jackalope.

Such an interesting beer. You gets lots of bourbon barrel notes to start with toffee, vanilla and licorice and then BAM, big time smokey and spicy chili pepper.

Nice. I am on "vacation" today and tomorrow but I have to finish a major project for work by Sunday night so I can't imbibe to heavily during the day. I have Guinness Foreign Extra Stout (my favorite Guinness), and a plethora of other beers in my fridge:
SanTan MoonJuice x5
Firestone Luponic Distortion x6
Ballast Point Victory at Sea x4
Ballast Point Sculpin x2
Coronado Sock Knocker x2
Dragoon IPA x3
Mother Road Tower Station IPA x3
Lagunitas Maximus x3
Stone Americano Stout x2

My sister and her husband are coming to visit this weekend.

I have come to the conclusion that Ballast Point is just too high priced... I enjoy the grapefruit and pineapple but when I can get other good IPAs at half the price... yeah, I'm good with Stone, Abita, Sierra Nevada and others...

I mean a 12er of SN costs less than a 6er of Sculpin out here.

Coffee and tea

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

I am having some coffee right now.

First cup was Starbuck's single origin Rwanda Rift Valley
2nd cup is Peet's Major Dickason's blend.

I'm a huge tea guy, I have like three, four cups a day at work, start with breakfast teas and go to just about anything from there... can't drink coffee though, give me the jitters/shakes an hour or two later... I'm weird I now.

I generally agree about Ballast Point but Victory at Sea is worth the price. I rarely buy Sculpin anymore but my local grocer had 5 bottles in the mix six pack area so for $9 I got 5 Sculpin and 1 Stone IPA, couldn't pass that up.

Cigar City should be expanding soon. They were just bought by Oskae Blues/Fireman Capital.

That's awesome news. I'm down that way a few times a year and it takes some time to find anyone that carries their product.

Still haven't tried Victory at Sea...

Cigar City... interesting, my brother in law apparently lives within walking distance of them and says good things, I've been dying to try their Nare Suga Brown for a while if for no other reason than I am a huge JJ Grey N Mofro fan and JJ Grey created that beer....
