I'll give it to h heels man. They have been great defensively for 25 minutes. The ND tournament draw is going to be real interesting. This is a team that could lose to any team in the tournament or could beat any team in the field.

This is exactly what I'm afraid of. It's one of those years where if we get hot we could make a run and I'm guessing we aren't making any kind of run in the tourney

Hey man be positive. If we get a 6 seed we should be in good shape. After all the 11's are teams like Monmouth

Errr...shit

I'm not going to put too much into this game. NC is bigger, quicker, more talented and just played their best game of the year. Heard before the game they had been looking forward to this game given they had lost three in a row to the Irish. Kind of a perfect storm. We're a decent, but have to play almost perfect to beat the top teams.

Again a Brey team that's inconsistent. UNC is a good team and it showed today.

It is frustrating to play so poorly in a big game. If you aren't going to win big, you'd like to at least win or lose close and make it exciting for fans/viewers. When everything goes wrong -rebounding, shooting, defense, turnovers- a blowout is usually what happens. Some speculation that Jackson may be playing injured, too. I didn't see the game (I followed it on my phone) so I can't comment on that.

On the other hand, no matter how big an egg we lay, we can always get props for the fight song.

From what I've heard Jackson isn't hurt at all. The hammy isn't bothering him at all. He is just rly off lately. Almost looks like he doesn't even wanna be there. I'm hoping that isn't the case cause I would like to see him play good our next game or couple hopefully.

We have two good veteran guards in DJ and Vast and they have been horrible as of late. If they don't get it together and stop turning the ball over and make some damn shots then we will be fine but if their playing sloppy then forget making the second weekend

Geez, looked so overmatched. One and done on offense, too many easy 2nd chances for UNC, sloppy play....wish ND could show up at these types of games, consistently. Don't have to win all the time, just come to play and complete. Agree that it seems DJ isn't playing well, and that spirals team downward.
Give credit to UNC, too, an overall top 4 team.

So looks like it will either be a 6 or 7 seed for us in the tourney. Most likely a 7. It always seems we lose those 7-10 matchup so we shall see who we matchup with

I turned it off at halftime. It was painful to watch. I'd be really excited for a Sweet 16 run but thats feeling way over optimistic.

Looking like 7 unfortunately. I think it's ND, Texas, and Dayton for the last two 6-seed spots just looking at resumes. I think Texas has us beat. Dayton losing today would be nice.

I think your right in the sense that it's probably us 3 for 2 spots as a 6 seed. Dayton losing would be rly nice for us. This year I feel like a lot of the field is wide open so a difference in playing a 2 seed or 3 seed next round won't be a lot but depends who the 2 seed is rly. Could be Mich st or Virginia or UNC or WVU or Oregon. Teams that would most likely beat us pretty good.

As a 3 seed you got the likes of like Indiana(def should have beaten them earlier in year not gonna get into that) or Utah or Xavier or Miami or Purdue. Teams that we would definitely have a lot better chances at.

So basically if we are a 7 seed I don't see us make sweet 16 unless we play lights out. A 6 seed and a sweet sixteen could definitely be in reach.

We just need to play some conssistent basketball. 35 TOs the last 2 games is atrocious!

I'm not sure who was going to beat UNC last night but you have to give them some credit for covering all five guys like a blanket as soon as they crossed the half court line. Their length and athleticism are pretty unique in CBB, plus they have depth to look to. Paige sucking balls all year is the only knock on them and others have stepped up as a result.

UNC has gotten better as the season comes to an end and ND is struggling. Pretty simple formula for us, take care of the ball. Hopefully this smacks some sense into our boys and they all realize they don't want to end like that.

I think that the long-promised practice facility will help recruiting significantly. There is no reason ND cannot have one of the best basketball facilities in the country.

Once that is done, there is also no reason, as far as I can tell, that ND can't sign a top 20 class every year. That's what needs to happens to be at the next level: all winners since 2003 have signed ranked in the top 20 by either ESPN/Rivals/247 in at least one of the three years before their title. Brey does more with less, but we need more with more.

The teams that win titles consistently also get high seeds in the tournament. Since the tourney field expanded to 64 in 1985, every champion has had a top 4 seed in one of the previous four tournaments; all but Syracuse in 2003 and UConn in 2004 and 2014 have had top 4 seeds in 2+ of the previous four tournaments.
