Is there a reason or benefit academically to transferring from a Christian school to a Catholic one? Is there something that ND offers or accepts that is not available at a Christian school? Just curious. Anyone who went to either type of school and then ND have any info?

Would it be about getting used to Catholic based curriculum?

Nope. Maybe he just went to the Christian school because its better at football, and now that he has the scholarship he wants to go back to Catholic school.

Looked great today at the Opening Regional in Orlando. 247 said he would have been Top 5 if not for a pancake (that wasn't allowed) during 1 on 1's. Sounds like for now, it cost him an invite which went to Robert Hainsey. Maybe he'll get the invite later. Here's a link to the 247 piece.

Top Performers: The Opening Regional in Orlando 2016

Two other offensive linemen we thought had strong days were Notre Dame commit Dillan Gibbons and Fort Meade (Fla.) 2018 Cleveland Reed., Gibbons who played with a huge mean streak and like Hainsey could play tackle or guard, but best projects inside. Gibbons has improved a lot and would have made the final five had he not been penalized for a pancake in a 1-on-1 drill where offensive linemen weren’t allowed to go to the ground. At the start of 1-on-1s, Gibbons had the best showing.

Penalized for being too mean, and destroying defensive linemen. I like it!

So he is top 5 and gets penalized for something every OL coach in the nation would be ecstatic about!?!

Seems silly but oh well!

It's crazy, those drills are already so much more geared to the D linemen, and they add in that bs rule? Good shit Dillan

yeah it'll get to the point that the top OL will stop competing in these drills as they have nothing to gain from them. They can only look bad really.

It is silly that they prohibit the OL from doing what they are taught to do when playing on the OL while the DL are let loose -- I don't believe they prohibit any techniques used by the Dline so a little unfair.

But I don't see a 17/18 year kid turning down a trip to a Nike Camp and potential invitation to The Opening to get national attention no matter if the cards are stacked against you to show your true talent one way or another. I know I sure would never turn that down.

Edit - granted you said DRILL not CAMP.

Doing Pass Rush without pads is kinda silly anyways, how are OL supposed to hold? :D

I think they just need a better drill. So often the DL does a spin move/swim inside from a 5 tech position and it's plainly unrealistic. They would run into the Guard/blocking back 90% of the time in a game situation. The DL should be made rush the edge and forbidden from rushing inside like they do.

This kid is a favorite now! He invoked the "Meat Sweats"! That's one of our sayings to describe the glorious workouts you endure when eating at local Michiana spots like Heston Bar or Skip's Other Place. For you guys not from the South Bend area, when you go to a game you must go to eat at one of those Prime Rib joints. The Copper Rock at the Four Winds Casino is also top notch from what I hear. Funny thing is, all are within 5 miles of each other in and around the town of New Buffalo, MI which has a population of maybe 2,000 and those places are always full.

You guys like bumps?

I met some cool people this weekend (had dinner with P-money's Dad, who's quite the character), and Dillan and his family among others (my GF photo bombed Dillan, who had the ISD snap for the weekend).

I'm always skeptical of players (especially ones with lower rankings) over listing their heights or weights. Dillan is a legitimate 6'4" if you ask me. Super nice kid and family too.

In his latest diary entry( I don't have the link but it's on Irish Sports Daily's twitter feed), he said that his brother Reilly is waiting on the decision from Notre Dame law.

Grad transfer?
