"They've been kind of recruiting me for a while," Davis said. "They came out to our college preview day and they were filming me a little bit and then they were talking to my head coach about me.

"A couple weeks later they hit my head coach up, which was (last) week, and they said they wanted to get on the phone with me. That's when they let me know I got offered."

There is a lot for Davis to like about Notre Dame - and the 2017 four-star believes he fits in well in the Irish offense.

"I feel like I would fit perfectly in their offense," Davis said.

"They like to run the ball a lot and I feel like that's one of my strong points. I've watched a couple of their linemen play and they're all big and nasty and that's how I like to play so that's one of the things that stood out about them, too."

As of now I'd say Dillan Gibbons, Joshua Lugg, Jedrick Willis, and Davis are at the top of that list.

FWIW, I'm a big fan of Lugg's. He'd be the one true tackle of that group. Andrew Ivins at BGI thinks that Davis is more of an OT. While Jedrick Willis has done very well at camps against edge rushers, HH seemed to work him out at all positions even center.

Pretty awesome for HH to be able to shift his focus on to 2017 so early. While keeping his 2016 guys and making looking for another gem in this class. A lot of flexibility.

He has seven offers out right now. He has a commitment from Dillon Gibbons. Two of them Myers and Moretti have committed to Ohio St. The other four are Jedrick Wills, Kayden Lyles, Wyatt Davis and Josh Lugg. Excluding the OSU guys, only Josh Lugg is a guaranteed tackle.

It was a given that Matt Bockhorst would commit if / when offered but something to keep in mind is he's best friends with Sean Clifford and Matt has a PSU offer too. If he goes PSU it's probably because he was told an offer is not coming. OSU hasn't offered either so that might be a game changer too in his case.

ND is also in contact with Walker Little. If he gets an offer and ND has a great year they might be in play for him. Lugg & Little... yes please.

“The degree,” Davis said of what intrigues him about the Fighting Irish. “They told me they really want me to come down there, they told me I’d have a great time."

"The dude that’s been recruiting me hardest I would have to say is D.J. Morgan," said Davis. "Every single day he’s trying to get me to commit to Notre Dame. I can’t wait to go out there."
