Some speculation that he or McCaffrey might get the next QB offers.

His name is popping up everyday on some recruitnik's feed. Seem's like an offer could pop at any time. He really turned some heads down at the US Army Combine. The services don't know whether to call him a Dual Threat or Pro Style. I like that, it fits in perfectly with the current crop of Irish QB's.

Says FSU is his dream school.

He was 2nd team All State in basketball as a sophomore and is listed at SG. Dude has some legit ups. It's NC so you gotta keep an eye on that.

DeShone Zaire II?

Seven posts in and not one Hooker joke? Well aren't we mature.

Q: What does bungee jumping and hookers have in common? A: They both cost a hundred bucks and if the rubber breaks, you're screwed.*

Just a few thoughts from his film: (mainly keeping Avery Davis' film in mind while watching)

Pros
-Really good touch on his deep to intermediate throws, consistently dropped the ball in the bucket just out of reach of defenders

- Good vision while moving in/outside the pocket away from the rush, and throws very well while on the run

- Runs with good vision and with an above average combination of speed and power in a way that reminds me sort of how we used DK in our power spread this year

- Much better upper body mechanics than Avery Davis, which probably explains why he throws so well while on the run

Cons

- Lacks some zip on his shorter throws, although I think this could be alleviated with his footwork being tidied up. Doesn't seem to drive off of his backfoot

- His arm isn't incredibly strong

- Isn't as fast as Davis

Overall, I think he's definitely a better fit for our offense than Davis, I'd definitely offer him Asap

“I don’t have any favorites right now,” Hooker said. “I plan on taking some visits this spring and making decision before the summer starts. Academics, the coaches and location will play a factor.”

I've noticed in recruiting, when kids are juniors (or younger) the superlatives they use when describing an offer are much different than when they're in/heading into their senior year. It makes sense, they're excited, they don't get much attention. Point is, I personally don't care how uber excited they are when a school offers at this point.

Hendon Hooker sounds like some kind of historic boat that is part museum and part event space you can rent for afternoon harbor cruises.

Or someone that ran for President back in the 1800s.

"You don't like Franklin Pierce's foreign policy?"

"No, I don't! I voted for Hendon Hooker!"

I think we're all assuming this Hooker is related to the mastermind of Chancellorsville

I like that Clemson offer a lot more than I used to.

love how some sites list him as pro style and others as dual-threat....guess he's a tweener

Just saw this....and no. Not even close...what the hell?

How? Hooker has a bigger arm, more accurate, better runner and is bigger in terms of size. I honestly don't McCaffrey is better at any point in his game than Hooker.

We were just talking about this last a few nights ago. We are at the point where we need 3 classes of QB's... Can't Run QB, Can't Pass QB and Dual threat.

I'm with you... I think. I look forward to dissecting their Sparq / Opening and Elite 11 performances. The one caveat I have to throw out there is I will not underestimate the athleticism of a McCaffrey. He's got some world class bloodlines.

I must be watching the wrong film. His arm looks much more like Tommy Rees arm than say Brandon Wimbush. I don't see a dynamic runner either - more along the lines of Deshone Kizer which is fine. Mccaffrey is taller and will add more arm strength as he fills out - it looks to me that he puts more on his throws at this stage. His throwing motion also looks much smoother. McCaffrey is also athletic enough to escape.
