Really? You don't think that's common sense. I think Irish#1 is speaking from a place where its common sense that this kid gets high level training for the next few years in which case, what he said is very true. A majority of individuals have not physically matured at 17-18 years of age. Therefore, its easy to assume that one will get bigger, stronger, and faster as they "mature"
The context I may be looking at may be a big different then. An 18 year old kid doesn't simply get faster because he gets older. His body may still be changing but unless he trains himself with the intention of being a faster individual I don't think that he just 'becomes faster'. That and sometimes a kid is already maxed out. I don't think that's necessarily the case for Johnson, but I think everyone knows how rare it is to see a high school kid make a jump in terms of his speed/acceleration like Will Fuller did. And it seems like comparisons that are being thrown around a lot in this kid's thread are Will Fuller and Golden Tate. I think that's very silly to just assume that this kid is a late bloomer like Fuller and Tate and he's not the biggest guy, so....MATURITY. I think he's much less likely to make an impact on that level than McKinley or Claypool. I think the staff gave up on Hamlin too soon, and if they were looking for a slot guy he's already in the class (Julian Love). Love has just as much upside if not more than Johnson.
