That sounds like feedback or some kind of recording interruption to me.

Ndaccountant asking the important questions.

But I agree with wooly. Sounds like something I heard playing the NES years ago.

Every word of this broadcast sounded like a fart, except this part. That was audio interference.

That was way too loud and clear to be a fart. He would have had to have had his pants down with the microphone pressed against his asshole.

Haha, I heard that during the game. Never thought it was a fart but that's funny to envision.

Speaking from experience?

Simms is the absolute worst. I can't believe he is doing the Super Bowl this year.

Does anyone on Irish Envy like any announcer...ever? I'm pretty sure everyone on the entire site is convinced that every announcer has a huge bias against all of their favorite teams.

My hate for Phil Simms goes back to the players strike of 1987. CBS Sports interviewed Phil Simms about the strike, and one of the studio guys asked Phil about the possible fan backlash. Phil response was along the lines of (but very close to exactly), "I have one thing to say to the fans who are critical of the strike: SHUT UP! We all know that you are going to start attending and watching the games again, as soon as the work stoppage is over. And we know you're going to continue to buy merchandise. So just shut up, already." That was the day that Phil Simms walked off the ledge, for me.

Some great/good announcers:

Bob Costas
Marv Albert
Todd Blackledge
Keith Jackson (except in his elderly years, when he started hating on everything that wasn't the PAC-10)
Jim Donovan (local Cleveland guy. Browns broadcaster, but he was/is damn good)
Pat Summerall
Myron Cope

Better than Buck and Aikman, by a mile.

Joe Buck can at least talk coherently. He's actually been a lot better this year IMO he and Aikman are both pretty witty at times with jokes.

Simms can't form sentences most of the time. It's like he can't see and talk at the same time. There's a reason there's a Twitter devoted to stupid quotes he makes.

It absolutely drives me nuts when he says "Eeem" when trying to say, "Him".

Example. He threw the ball right to eeem.

Id rather he replaced a "eeem" with a fart. That would be the only thing that would make his play by play tolerable.
