Not saying it didn't go well, but do you think some of this could be calculated PR to get off his back so he can be at least somewhat more along to recovery when he goes to meet with teams, and their teams doctors? really hoping he goes to Bears at 11.

You're not wrong but the fact that it contains some specifics makes me optimistic. Teams will have access to his medical info well enough to know whether there was any nerve damage, for instance.

AS much as I'd love to have him in Chicago, I wouldn't pick him. The Bears need their first rounder to produce next year. The schedule is perfect for a run next year with the AFC South and NFC East the two conferences. Fox will have the team improved again. The WR's will both be healthy (wood knocked). The Bears will pass the Lions and the Packers may have finally blinked. The Bears could finish 3rd in the B&B and still make the playoffs.

That being said, has he ever publicly stated he grew up a Bears fan or a Colts fan?

He's stated publicly on numerous occasions that he's a lifelong Patriots fan.

Holy hell. Just googled it, you're right. That's sad. Hate band wagon fans. Can't stand the 50 somethings who are Cowboy / Steeler fans. I didn't know people liked the Pats outside of NE. Especially ones in Indiana where the Bears and Colts have been good in his formative years.

Sad day. I hope he ends up there then.

Injury is upsetting in more than one way, but I'm also bummed we don't get to see him run the 40.

I generally agree with you on band wagon fans. They are the worst. I do give a pass to little kids though. Almost all kids are band wagon fans and it's understandable that 6-year old Jaylon would fall in love with the Pats in the same way 6-year old NDWorld was a 49ers fan.

In fact, there was a time when most of the nation was rooting for the Pats. America loves an underdog and the Pats beating the greatest show on turf, in the 9/11 season when every American was a "Patriot", was poetic. It wasn't until they won 2 out of the next 3 that Americans had enough because, as much as we love an underdog, we hate too much success. They hate us cause they ain't us...

But, back to Jaylon...like all ND players, I just hope he ends up in a good situation. I think he'll end up going in the 24-31 range if he declares.

Dr. Cooper is a top flight surgeon. He's not going to BS after a surgery. Teams are going to have their own docs check him out anyway.

I heard Jerry was by his side during surgery whispering sweet nothings in his ear about how sweet the Dallas Cheerleaders are.

...happy to hear nothing but good news.

Funny, I recall everyone rooting Warner and his feel good story. I know I rooted for the Rams that game.

I rooted for the Pats, because they were in fact huge underdogs in that game, and at the time, felt bad for their fan base (Red Sox were still a glorified version of the Cubs, Bruins were in a decade long rebuild, Celtics were in the toilet, and the Pats never sniffed a title, seeing they were grossly outmatched in both of their previous appearances).

Little did I know they would become the most spoiled sports city in the country immediately after with an embarrassment of riches and titles.

...by becoming their hated rivals, the Yankees, in baseball (outspending everyone else by multiple factors), and cheating in football (but only a little, and people cheat because they are smart, and it doesn't really give you an advantage).

And we can all agree that Michigan Man, Tom Brady. is America's Sports Hero.

lets not contaminate Jaylons thread with fanboy talk of that former Michigan qb or his current team.

Meh, since 2000, Boston has a title in every major sport.

Red Sox : 2004, 2007, 2013
Patriots : 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014
Bruins : 2011
Celtics : 2008

Chicago has had 4 total and 3 were from Hockey, which is the least relevant of the major sports. Half of Chicago also doesnt care about the White Sox title. 9 titles this millennium over 4.

Meh? My math isn't invalidated by your age.

I enjoyed EVERY one of those championships as I did the last 3.5 Irish football titles and 3 Hoosier basketball titles. I just have the luxury of being older than you.

And since I was talking to Steelie, the White Sox count.

Lastly, the Bears, Sox and Hawks all beat Boston teams on the way to their titles which makes this discussion more sweet.

Since you were talking to Steelie, he clearly said that he was referring to the 2000's, not since '85. As a die-hard Laker and all-things L.A. fan, it makes me sick to say but Boston has owned the title landscape during the time that Steelie was talking about, and it's not close really.

Oh wait, you have me on ignore LOL. Nevermind. Keep thinking you're right. (Wait, did I just side with NDSean????)

I just think 2000 is a better cutoff. However, you raise a good point on all them beating boston teams enroute to a title. Boston has had more variety, whereas the Hawks have been the only good team in chicago over the last 8 years or so.
