He was never coming back next year guys. I'd love to have him, but if I were him I'd be gone in a heartbeat. He is a potential top 5-10 pick. No brainer to me.

In fact, I would drive him to Radio City. The absolute smart decision for him is to leave. Way to high a draft pick to come back.

Yeah, unless he tanked, it was unlikely he was coming back. End on a good note, bring home a win in January!

I still think there's a chance if we win the game he goes 'holy ish we're so close' and makes the decision tougher. If we lose I don't think he comes back at all.

You think he doesn't already know we are "close" and one game is gonna change that? Would love for it to happen but I don't think so.

I think kids are emotional, especially when they're in a class and group as tight as a football team. I do think winning would make it harder but IDK that it changes anything.

Stop it. It's over. He's not coming back. Doesn't mean he never loved you.

Wouldn't losing make it harder. 'Man we lost and we're so close. I don't want to end my ND career like this.'

However, he's gone. And should be. No reason to return. If that degree is that important, he'll finish it on his time.

If there was a chance of Jaylon coming back, this was the kiss of death that nixed it

Agree with you both. But the draft is not in NYC this year and remember last year it was in Chicago.

Him leaving, just means bvg and Kelly are even bigger fools for not getting reps for other lbs for this supposed complex D. Hopefully they quit trying to make drue a safety

Why you want Drue at linebacker? You don't like Coney taking over that spot?

I thinks he's just a tad stiff to be a safety. He's also done nothing but play well and be around ball when at LB. I don't care what position, who I don't wanna see is James O. Ideal to me would be Jaylon mid drue olb n whoever out of coney/morgan/rcts on otherside

I remember they changed venues but couldn't remember and was too lazy to Google.

I don't get all the hate James O. When he was in he did a great job in coverage and re routing receivers.

I think ideal lb core next year would be:
James O/Martini splitting time, Morgan at mlb and coney taking over Jaylons spot.

I think Drue would be fine as a SS and also a nickel lb. Drue's biggest problem is staying healthy.

Instead of congratulating Jaylon, what you should do is keep telling us how the coaches are fools and then expand on that brilliant idea that Jaylon should have played Mike and defensive end.

Best in the nation at tackling the opposing team's gunner on punt returns.

Drue is great around the LOS, average at safety. He should be a blitzing nickel or DOG, IMO. He was such a good blitzer his freshman year then we stopped using him for that.

Not true he blitzed this year. He just didn't play many games this year.

How bout you just keep rereading it, so I don't have to keep telling. Maybe pass it along to bvg for me. Thx

#2 on Kiper's Big Board. Hard to stay with projections like that. Ronnie was #8 I believe.

I've mentioned a couple times recently that Mike Frank mentioned how 'some people' think Coney might be better suited for MLB with Martini as SAM.

I sure hope not because we basically just waisted a year of him learning Will, knowing fully that both Schmidt and Smith were likely gone.
