Actually, no it is not.

Look at 2012, and the amount of hand-wringing people and CONSTANT discussion people were saying that ND was not worthy, even when they were the only unbeaten in the country.

And honestly, ND has very unimpressive wins, the least impressive ones being over the last month, while OU is within one W of winning 3 straight games vs Top Ten competition. ND can not say that. In fact, even if they beat Stanford, they will have ONE Top Ten W. If you compare wins, which is likely a criterion the committee will use to decide on a 1-loss team, then ND's best wins are just not in the same class as OU, even with the Texas game.

People need to stop overrating the importance of Stanford as a win that will put ND over the top vs the resumes of the other 1-loss teams. Their resume does not stack up, sadly.

What the fuck are you talking about? Which Top 10 teams? Because TCU sure as hell isn't. So you must be talking about Baylor, was playing their first game with their true freshman backup QB.

And if/when they beat Oklahoma State, the Cowboys will be ranked somewhere around #15-#20.

Assuming Navy wins out, they arguably better than any win Oklahoma has, except probably Baylor. Pittsburgh is as good as TCU. And Stanford will be as good as Oklahoma State. So then you're left with a top 25 Temple that will be comparable or better to Tennessee.

Show me where the difference is. I'll wait. (Hint: it doesn't exist).

Would love to see if TCU is still in top 25 - will say a lot imo as they unleash the top 4.

Phillipm31....

you need to understand the committee looks at EVERYONE a team has played, not just 1 or 2 or 3 teams,,,,the FULL SOS and ALL the teams on a schedule matters to them--and it should.
there have been myriad posts here that im sure you've seen, all from different sources, that have ND SOS, and such and such a ranking as high as #2.
playing very good teams week in and week out and beating them matters to this committee.
im no saying we're gonna make the top4 this week or in a couple weeks, but I do think you're overreacting here from emotion and not the logic the committee uses in assessing all of this.

I think one could argue some of those points but to me ND and OU are about equal when it comes to things... except that Texas thing. That has to count for something at the end of the day.

This is dumb. ND's resume does stack up. It does not clearly outclass some of the other 1 loss teams, but it matches up with the best of them.

Nobody seriously thinks that all 4 teams at top the Big XII were legit top-10 teams.

ND has no one to blame but themselves. The BC game was a fucking embarrassment.

We have to win and OU has to lose. Pretty unlikely both happen.

Nothing to complain about.

Can't struggle against bad teams and expect to stay in the top 4.

See, this is more what I expected from the beginning. We have no allies in that room, and we shouldn't expect to get in over a conference champ.

I'm disappointed that I ever believed we'd get a fair shake.

So much for everyone saying that Texas win gives us the tie breaker

Ohio state going down Gave us the opportunity to make a statement and move up. And we perform like we did on Saturdays night.

No one to blame but ourselves.

Stanford being above Oklahoma State is pretty huge. Nebraska Iowa this weekend will be a huge game for us too.

That's a bit much IMO. If we didn't play like assholes (your words, and I agree with the sentiment) Saturday, then things would be looking different.

The size of OU's jump makes me think this might have happened even if we had beaten BC by more.

8 team playoff needed.

The Big 12 sure isn't getting slighted this year for sure. Didn't expect to see Oklahoma at #3. And Baylor still getting plenty of love.

The good news is it's clear the committee is willing to make some fairly drastic changes from week to week which plays to ND's benefit if we can get a strong win versus Stanford.

Bad news is, it's pretty disappointing we threw up on ourselves against two of the worst teams on our schedule. At least with this format, this proves just winning isn't enough.

ND has been treated fairly.

If they played better the last two weeks they would probably still be in the top 4.
