I imagine ND moves up to 3 depending on what happens in the Big 12 tonight.

Yeah but OSU was getting in if they won too (barring an upset at Michigan, which I guess is possible), so it's a wash. Overall it helps us though... I think we match up better against Sparty than the Buckeyes.

I think this helps because we slide to #3 for Stanford week. When we beat Stanford, a probable top 10 team, we will be solidified to make the playoff. We aren't going to go from #3-#5 on conference championship weekend when we are off. The committee loves ND. No way they drop us out

Think of it this way.............


I don't think that MSU is going to pass up any of ND, Oklahoma, or Oklahoma St, even if they win out. Previous to Ohio State's loss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and ND were all vying for one open slot in the top 4. It was pretty much a given that OSU, Clemson, and Alabama were going to be the top 3 if they won out. Now, with Ohio State presumably dropping out of the top 4, there are 2 spots open for those teams to fill.

I disagree. If Sparty beats Penn. St. then Iowa, they will have three wins against top 15 teams and will have won the conference that will have four top 15 teams in it. No way they get left out in that scenario.

Michigan St. is in if they win out no doubt about it in my mind. Oregon is a top 20 team again. They will have 4 top 25 wins and 3 in the top 15 or so.

Even though I know technically this isn't the best result for us I'm okay with it, because fuck Ohio state.

Chaos! I really didn't think tOSU was going to lose till the post season. It seemed like they were the 2014 FSU, not as hungry but still a talented team that showed up at the end of games when they needed to. Not today. This will definitely muddle the playoff picture, although with tOSU's schedule who knows if they'll still get in. I could see them still winning the B1G and getting in, but who knows. It's definitely going to make some things interesting, but it's still a late loss, we'll have to see who ends up winning the B1G East, probably still tOSU.

Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Iowa, MSU all play a factor.

OSU can't win the B!G unless Sparty chokes, hard. They're a non-factor in the playoff hunt..

I'll be surprised if Oklahoma doesn't jump us on Tuesday. They're pasting a decent TCU team (decent even without their two stars) and we went down to the wire with a pathetic BC team.

ND has no one to blame but themselves if the committee bumps Oklahoma ahead of them.

I'd almost hope they would jump us into the 3 spot. As long as we stay at 4 I'm okay. I'd rather play Clemson in the first round of the playoffs than Bama. And if we win we either play Bama then or a team that has been beat on by Bama the week before. It all comes down to Stanford. Win and we're in. Tough game today. We have a lot to clean up and some young guys are going to have to step up next week. Go Irish!

Assuming Stanford wins, this is my crack at this week's top 10:

1. Clemson
2. Alabama

With Navy checking in at 15th and Temple jumping back into the top 25 (barely).

I hope I'm wrong about OU. If I'm not, we're going to have to root hard for Ok. St. next week.

Oklahoma barely won at home against a team who just lost their star qb, star wr, and center. Their defense was already a shell. Oklahoma didn't impress me at all.
