That's awesome. One thing BK said when he got here was that he wanted to beef up the walk-on program and he has done that and then some.

Has an offer from Mason at Vandy. I like that. He offered a lot of solid under the radar LBs at Stanford.

It's all fun and games until this kid is our starting middle linebacker and our stud 4*+ kids can't sniff the field.

I kid.

Sorta.

I agree. Although, I think this kid is bigger, stronger, and faster than Schmidt right now.

His film on hudl looks decent. Tackles very well. He's a little stiff but moves fairly well. We'll see how he fills out and if he has significant growth in a college strength and conditioning program.

According to Loy, the lack of offers might be due to in the past he has cut down to 185 for wrestling and appeared undersized. This year he is wrestling at 215 so he should be bulkier when he comes to ND.

I like football players who also wrestle. Wrestlers were always the kids with a screw loose, and that's a good trait to have on the football field.

I have seen either 5'11 or 6'1. Either way he is a three star linebacker that wants to walk on. I will take it.

Congrats to him and his family , but he's 5'11?

If he was 6'2 - 6'3 he wouldn't be walking on at ND. Why are you hung up on height for a walk-on with some obvious talent and offers? This is a great walk-on pick up in my opinion.

London Fletcher played a solid decade plus in the league at 5'9". You don't have to be big..

I for one am stoked that we hav the 66th ranked ilb on one recruiting service as pwo. Very low risk high reward

Kelly said in August that Schmidt benches over 400.

Damn impressive. And even before knowing that, only a maroon would think that a 5th year college senior wouldn't be stronger than a high school senior of similar frame, not to mention Joe prolly has about 30 pounds on him.
