Last night Kelly said when he came in the defensive coaches said he couldn't backpedal so they moved him to offense lol.

This year has been the rushing enimga....but italics should have been used anyway! Greg Bryant probably would have 2000 yards by now.

No, it has not. BK has always been right at 50% run/pass in play calling.

Run/pass is too simplistic. Jet sweeps and little flip passes skew the statistics from what people are talking about when they say "run the ball."

1,642 rushing yards in 7 games, averaging 234.6 yards a game. And 19 TDs.

Yes, the running game has been all that and more so far.

We've attempted 200 passes. We've ran the ball 269 times. 57% run / 43% pass

Good points both, Reps gentlemen. Both are valid points. I think my criticism of BK has always been 'how' he runs the ball. And that has changed this season, for at least two reasons. CJ and Will 'BigPlay' Fuller have forced it. They both can take the offense on their back with a freshman quarterback; and, they are incredible dynamic playmakers, to which no team has had a real solution this year, (Clemson, minus the weather inspired four turnovers, and remember Will still had a TD and CJ had over one hundred yards receiving.) The other reason (IMO) :

1,642 rushing yards in 7 games, averaging 234.6 yards a game. And 19 TDs.

The mix has been greatly affected by Mike Sanford shaking up the room!

Let's call it 60/40. I like that.

I think I read where Mike Sanford was at 62% at BSU last year. Can someone confirm that?

234 per game. 19tds and a 5.9 per carry average so far. Find another year under Kelly at ND with anything approaching those kind of numbers.

2012 looks very similar from a breakdown perspective. We've just been incredibly more effective this year than that. We've already thrown for as many touchdowns in 2015 as we did in 2012, and we're 4 rushing TDs shy of matching that offense's output.

Boise St was at 57% run/pass last year. ND is at 57% this year up from 51% last year. In 2012 it was 56%.

He has such deceptive speed. I think USC struggled with him when he would break it outside.

That and he is just such a patient runner. He'll wait for holes to develop, then accelerate into the second level like it's nothing. Amazing talent for someone who's never played RB in his life.

CJ has 922 rushing yards after USC. The all-time ND single season record is 1437 by Vegas Ferguson in 1979. 6 games left. You do the math. Ok, I'll do it. He has to average about 86yds per game to break it including a bowl game.

Not to be a downer, but IIRC, the 1979 team only played eleven games. So while CJ will still probably break the record, it should be noted that he had more games in which to do so.

I can't seem to find the 1979 game splits data. I'm curious to see where Vagas was seven games into the season compared to CJ.

Love Vegas Ferguson. Probably my all time favorite ND RB. I've mentioned it before. CJ's style reminds me a lot of VF when he runs. Vegas was a patient runner with a great burst of acceleration.

No girl tops his play on the field. ;)

Where'd you see her...she must be smoking? CJ walking around with the baddest girl in SB??...yeah for sure, wouldn't expect anything else.

Source tells Irish Illustrated that C.J. Prosise suffered a concussion and potentially a shoulder injury as well.

I could see him resting until healthy. He's been beat up this year.

Hoping he plays against Stanford

We probably don't need him the next two weeks
