Jaylon will do what momma wants. He's very close with his family, and his older brother, I believe is on somebody's practice squad.

He was on Seattle's but they signed him to the active roster last week and he played a bit. Did they cut him again since Lynch is back?

Edit: cut by Seattle but now on the Cowboys 53 man roster.

I don't want Jaylon to stay. He needs to leave after this year to secure a top 10 pick. Don't want him going through spring practice, fall practice and another 13 game season where the risk of getting injured would be devastating.

That is what insurance, with an ND degree, followed by a masters degree is for. Then you have the work ethic and sense of purpose of a 'Jarrett Grace.' IF that is not enough, the idea of an NC next year may be very alluring!

We play Michigan St. next year so I completely think we can't afford him to leave.

Scout: ND did what they needed to do. Very good visit covering all bases. He will take the other visits but feel is ND solidified top spot. Decision expected early December.

I get what you're saying, but Jaylon can always pull a Jimmy Clausen and just come back later to finish his degree. Is there any harm in that? Yeah, it would come out of pocket, but he'd almost certainly have the money to come back one season and finish his work.

As for Michigan State coming up next year. I really am not worried. They've looked really beatable this year, and their best player, Connor Cook will be gone, so they're gonna break in a brand new QB. They're already feeling the loss of Narduzzi. How can nobody feel good about a LB corp of Coney, Morgan, Tranquill, Martini, Onwualu, Barajas, Onwualu and Bilal? It's mind boggling.

Yea, at worst our linebacker corps will be equal to this years. Yea, I mean your losing Jaylon who may be the best linebacker in the country, but your also gaining the loss of Schmidt. Think about it, does Jaylon play better than Schmidt plays poor?

All are unknown mostly, and you'd rather have the best linebacker in the country back, than have him back.

In my opinion, yes.

I suspect it's because of those you listed, one has Derrick Rose's knees, another has been wildly unnoticable in two years on the field, a third is apparently unreliable to the point he hasn't gotten a look over Schmidt, and the others have yet to do anything.

“I hung out with Jaylon for a while this morning,” said Hayes. “He gave me some insight on how to separate myself at the next level. He said if I do end up coming to Notre Dame, he’s going to give me No. 9. He’s passing it down. He said Manti Teo passed the right of being the next big linebacker at Notre Dame to him and he wants to pass that down to me.”

It follows that the Next Big Linebacker gets to choose his own number...

Wait.
Wouldn't this all but confirm that jaylon is checking out?

From everything I read DH had an amazing visit... I know he wants to take his other visits, but our coaches need to take this bye week as time to lock him up

Probably. He will be projected in the top 5-10, so logic dictates that he should go. Personally I am enjoying every single play he is on the field in an ND uniform. It is a great joy to watch him out there.
