Not entirely sure this is a done deal. Stanford not having his major seemed like a big deal. I could see him re-thinking this as the season progresses or at least giving us an OV.
So here is a question, does Stanford thank Andrew Luck or Harbaugh for brining in Andrew Luck?
In regards to getting Long?
I think you thank Wayne Moses, Nate Nelson and AJ Christoff.
.
said he will "definitely" take official visits to Nebraska, Notre Dame and Michigan--247
"It's more of a case of going to see them because I haven't been to those places," Long said. "I'm 100-percent firm with Stanford."

Stanford just kicks our ass when it comes to DB recruiting it feels like recently, I would love to steal one from them.
Can we just steal their DB recruiter or DB position coach?
Has scheduled an OV for the Navy game
Hamlin and this guy would be at the top of my CB board. Throw in Studstill at safety and that's a wrap lol
Well considering Donte Vaughn is a silent, how many more do we take?
Beat me to it.
The Irish have some great DB options on the board but they'll be hard pressed to find a better student athlete, from a quality academic / athletic program, that competes against other A+ programs. PLUS he's a real track guy that doesn't seem like he's thinking about competing in college.
Fast is good.

Right now we have Redfield, M Williams, and a rehabbing Tranquil / Baratti. Keep getting top tier talent and figure it out later.
Anyone with an update? Big head
Scout says he had a great time on his visit and it seems like of he didn't get into Stanford, ND would be the choice. As usual though, Jake Brown and co. didn't make any real predictions, just said that he really enjoyed his trip.
Los Angeles (Calif.) Loyola defensive back David Long took an official visit to Notre Dame over the weekend and it sounds like the Irish gave him a lot to think about.
While he waits to be approved by Stanford's always tough admissions process, Loyola athlete David Long decided to take a few offiical visits.
Long checked out Notre Dame over the weeknd and the Irish made a huge impression.
"It was a great trip, I liked it a lot," Long said. "The highlight for me was the fan support and the game atmosphere. Notre Dame is the only school in the country where you can get a first class education matched with a football heavy environment. I know you can argue multiple schools in that arguement but at Notre Dame, it's just a different approach from anything else I've seen.
"My host was C.J. Sanders and I clicked really well with all the players. I already knew a handful of guys like Equanimeous St. Brown and C.J and surprisingly, I met some guys there who attended Loyola H.S. The Loyola to Notre Dame pipeline is pretty strong. I was with Shaun Crawford a lot as well and he's a great guy and very knowledgable about the game, very smart guy."
Long has a strong relationship with the Irish coaching staff as well and that was only enhanced this weekend.
"I spent a great deal of time with the coaches going over my role and how they see me fitting in," Long said. "They're looking to build up the secondary and I really like what they have to offer. The DC, Brian VanGorder is good friends with my head coach Marvin Sanders so I'm already learning all the stuff they're teaching right now.
"Therefore, I would be able to hit the ground running when I got to fall camp. It would be a smooth transition for sure. Depth chart wise, I'm willing to compete no matter where I go but Shaun told me with him at nickel, the corner spots are up for grabs. It's a great situation and I have a lot of respect and trust with the staff, they have been very clear how they want to use me and that's big for me."
Long has submitted his application to Stanford but it no longer sounds like it's a done deal that he'll automatically re-affirm his pledge to the Cardinal.
"I had a great trip, Notre Dame really gave me a lot to think about," Long said. "Even if I'm cleared, I'm still going to give Notre Dame a hard look, like I said, the coaches have been very clear to me from the beginning how I would fit and that means a lot.
"This coming weekend I'll be at Michigan and then I still plan to visit Duke and Washington after my season. I'll take my last visit to Stanford for their big recruiting weekend in January and I'm still looking at UCLA locally as well."
