Fuller bothered me the most because he's supposed to be the superstar. It's like... I can live with a receiver who's just plain faster than Matthias Farley or Joe Schmidt. It's a much harder pill to swallow when KeiVarae Russell or Jaylon Smith get beat.

Yeah, I certainly understand...expectations higher for our "stars". CB should be one of these so called "stars" but has not yet turned that page.

Them too...especially Brown.

I don't think you should be piling on Brown. A kid who has worked his ass off for 4 years. A kid who in his home state had a huge game receiving. A kid who was just trying to make a play to get into the end zone and tie the game.

Robinson has had a ton of drops this year, non bigger than the two last night. Don't forget Corey had a ton of drops last season, the one that still sticks out to me is the pick 6 vs ASU.

I don't 'blame' Robinson. He hasn't really had his confidence going all year. We need to manufacture some plays for him

He's worked his ass off, that is great...the level of production hasn't changed. We can all run in quick sand. Same for Robinson...CATCH THE FUCKING BALL. How hard is it?

I thought he had a good game last night, minus the fumble. Shrug.

Robinson was 3 star out of high school. Brown was 3 star out of high school. Most of the time 3 star players are well 3 star players!

Hmmmm...shrug. Playing like "3 stars" as you put it...ok. Regardless it's average at best.

Chris Brown shows up on a Saturday every now and then with a catch...nothing more, or less. Robinson has hands like elbows. ESB I bet would have caught the ball.

The way you guys complain out guys who talk on ND is hilarious. Compared to every other big time program they don't talk at all. Watch any SEC game and compare.

People have been complaining the last 24 hours about how our players talk and celebrate to much. They aren't robots. Other teams talk and celebrate way more.

Thanks for clearing that up.

On a better note, you think we can go 11-1?

I think USC is going to be a really close game and Stanford looks pretty damn good. Yeah we can go 11-1 but I think 10-2 is much more likely

Yeah, me too...or more likely 9-3. :(

That's shame given this team is so stacked. We'll be good next year too...with our starting QB, RB, etc...back

So sicking about hearing every year how good we'll be next year...

Crob seems distracted. I've seen him make some outstanding catches...but seems like lately he's got something in his head thats breaking his focus. Really concerned for this kid.

I'll be shocked if Robinson continues to play meaningful minutes. His key attribute is that he can come down with jump balls but he can't do that in games. He dropped a sure TD and dropped a two point conversion.

His nickname used to be catch radius. We should see ESB or someone in there who can catch the ball during a live game, not a practice warrior. I love CRob but he just isn't getting it done.

I think the other players had some gaffs but none were bigger than both of CRob's drops.

no evidence of this but i get the feeling he has decided he wants to do more with his life than play football.

Definitely been a disappointing year so far for Corey, and a particularly disappointing game.

Really surprised that CRob has gone from (IMO) best hands on the team to completely unreliable. I marked it up last year to the broken digit and really expected a strong bounce back this year. His best attribute is now a liability IMO.

In conditions like that, I expected the coaches to know who could grab it and who couldn't. The answer is apparently nobody since I didn't see a single catch with the hands all night and the five drops were big time throws - 100% of the blame on the WRs for those drops.

I think we should go towards Alize Jones in the redzone when we're looking for a big target. After a drop or two early, I think Jones got the butterflies out and has come on to play well for a freshman. He's a big body, and Corey is struggling. Put Jones in for Corey in the redzone.

I agree completely. I just get the feeling that he has completely embraced ND for all that it is and his focus isn't on football as much as it used to be. Whenever I see footage of C-Rob, its almost always for something other than what he is doing on the field.

He seems like a great guy that loves life and isn't super focused on football.

i think the trip to South Africa opened his eyes about his place in the world. We can't say this hasn't happened before though. Some players have turned down roster spots at ND when upperclassmen because they wanted different things from their lives..Luke Massa and Sean Cwynar being two examples. I think it happens also where some players are just going through the motions of being a student/athlete and have realised playing football is no longer the passion it was for them before.

I like CRob as a person, but if I was the coach and running the team like a business....He would be fired. I bet we don't see him on the field unless we are up 30 for the rest of the year.

Man I hope not...but if so, why continue. Its not like he needs the scholly to attend Notre Dame. His dad can handle the tuition. Good kid. Asset to the school regardless. If he wants to do football, I'm hoping he can clear his head, and get back to gobbling up jump balls for 6...

This thread has some incredibly speculative posts. I would take Kelly's word, that it has just been the luck of the draw. I mean where are more catches coming from? CBreezy, BigPlay, the slots, and all the guys are catching well. Hell, even CJ out of the backfield is on fire.

Last night, when it was all on the line, CRob made one difficult, highly contested catch for a touchdown; at a key point in the game.

A question for some of you : (I mean it isn't like DeShone and Corey aren't two of my favorite players,) but isn't the little timing/ball placement issue that DK has been having with all the receivers more greatly affecting CR's receptions? I mean DK as much as I love him, hasn't had the greatest timing or ball placement, yet.

Last night we say a step forward in that department, which bodes well, in my opinion for the tall possession receiver.
