Damn, that sucks. Hope he is able to make a full recovery and do work next season. Is it related to the nagging shoulder injury he sort of got in the Pinstripe bowl?

Yes. Had surgery, then I was told it kind of traced the problem to some nerve damage. Really sucks. He still gets paid some but has to earn his spot next year.

Bunch of our NFL guys have caught the injury bug the last few years, sorry to see TJ is in that camp. The kid works hard and deserves to succeed.

Felt bad for him. His shoulder was effed the whole season last year. Seemed like every game he'd re-injure it in the 1st quarter and have to tough it out the rest of the game.

TJ was put in the PUP list to start the season. So that means he's on the PUP for the next 6 weeks. Then the Lions have 3 weeks to decide if he is on the active roster or not. then at that point, the Lions either will activate him or IR him for the season.

Cleared to return to practice today. Lions have 21 days to either put him on the active roster or sit him for the season.

TJ had 2 catches for 80 yards including a 64 yarder for a TD. He also returned 2 punts for 20 yards.

Any Detroit fans here know if he'll make the final roster or if he's headed to practice squad?

It would be nice to see him on the roster. Outside of Tate, Moore, and Johnson, we don't have anyone that you could really say is head and shoulders above him.

If you guys keep Ebron and Wright, does that take a place away from a WR? I know you have a lot of quality TEs. Wright was more WR than TE for the Pats last year so wasn't sure if that would impact TJ.

I believe last year we carried 3 TEs

He was getting reps there in pre-season. But there is talk about Ameer Abdullah filling that role.
Hate to see Abdullah do the punt returns for Injury reasons. I believe Jeremy Ross is still on roster probably filling return role, although I believe TJ can be special.

Ross was cut earlier today. That's why Jones is on the roster. They picked Jones over Ross and Greg Salas, who sprained his knee in final pre-season game.

I don't follow the Lions, but what about Theo Riddick? Seems like a good option to get him more involved other than being a 3rd down passing catching back, a role he filled admirably last season.

The Lions have loved Ross for a few years now. And Salas had a good pre season. Word was they were very high on him. They must have faith in TJ if he made the roster and both of the others were cut.

Perhaps the most underrated ND player as of late.

Floyd, rudolph, tate, and Eifert all over shadowed him. But TJ was right up there in my books.

Awesome player, even better person!
