GK do we have a count on who paid so I can reconcile to the league accordingly and assess where we are at?

Have we decided on keepers yet? It doesn't look like we have an option to declare keepers from our team page, which we would have if keepers had been set up.

I've received money from you, Kane, Wizards, bless, shake, and irishophile . Add me that makes 7 paid 5 outstanding. Don't know who the 5 are.

Second thoughts on my keeper. Have Forte down but damn if Antionio Brown isn't looking juicy. #1 WR versus #4 RB. The original strategy is to have two quality backs and picking up some sleepers late. This also assumes the first 8 picks are by less adept owners (they didn't finish poorly on pure luck, right). Some surely learned RBs are important, others are oblivious star chasers doomed to repeat past mistakes and talk themselves into bad decisions.

I get the 9th and 16th picks. Regardless of which route I take, I pretty much need to pick up an RB with the #9 pick as there will surely be 3-4 taken from #10-#15 picks. #16 I will probably have the same quality WR or QB available as was there at #9.

I'd keep Brown

You received from me also.

Side note: This is why I suggested using leaguesafe and not having one person be the treasurer. Not to impugn gk's integrity, because I'm sure he is a stand-up guy of the highest order. But he is not immune from being hit by a bus or being eaten by a tiger that escaped from the local zoo or having a mental break and spending the next 18 months in a funny farm. Point being: leaguesafe is transparent and democratic and I don't really see the advantage of having a "treasurer" for this kind of league where we don't all know each other super well IRL. I am not suggesting a change for this year, but going forward as the amounts at stake increase it might be something worth thinking about.

Yes I did sorry I left you out. So with lion and Rhode that's nine paid.

And I have no problem doing league safe next year.

By my count we have one unpaid entrant and 2 open spots. I say whoever pays gets the last spot and we go with 10. The draft is really thin this year IMO so I think ten would be fine. Thoughts?

I'm OK with it if that is what everyone wants to do, but also we should keep in mind that if we are doing a keeper league if we go to ten we should probably stay at ten going forward.

If we go to 10 I'd like to delay the draft. I built a draft kit based on 12.

I'd prefer 10. I don't need extra time for my draft kit because my brain is like a fantasy football super computer.

Gattaca is paying today so we have ten paid. I don't care what we do but I'm not willing to scramble around to fill two spots.

I don't totally love it in theory but I am willing to accept it because I have good late-round keepers anyways. Remaining questions to be resolved:

1. How many keepers? 1, 2 or 3?

2. Penalty for keeping a player is round they were drafted in the prior year?

3. Do you pay a premium for keeping same player more than one year?

4. Is there a limit for how many consecutive years you can keep a player?

5. An undrafted player kept in the last round, right?

I think we should do:

1. Keep one player if you want.

2. Penalty for keeping a player, if you do, is losing a pick one round earlier than the round in which they were drafted. So a round 1 stays as a round 1, but a round 2 becomes a round 1, a round 3 becomes a round 2, so on and so forth.

3. Kind of the answer to the above I guess.

4. No limit on how many years you can keep them, but they become one round more valuable every year (if they aren't already a 1st-round pick).

5. Undrafted player is worth a 10th round pick.

*These are just my preferences, but I have also never done a keeper league. I just think the above ideas would keep it balanced. We could also just do "Keep one per year, no restrictions or penalty, keep them as many years as you want."

First of all we aren't doing keepers of the players we had last year. Just the ones we draft this season going forward. Not sure what you meant by having good late round keepers.

Then IMO, 2, yes, no, no, yes

We aren't keeping players from last year? That is a bummer.

If we are voting, I vote:

1. 2
2. yes
3. yes, one round earlier every year
4. no, but eventually rule against keeping rd 1&2 picks would come into play (in conjunction with #3) (also, I move that we call these two rules taken together "the rule against fantasy perpetuities").
5. last round

On second thought I agree with everything here.

Right now it is set up as a keeper league and there doesn't appear to he a limit.

In my league I got pick #3, assuming Peterson and Bell are gone, I'm leaning towards Charles. Thoughts?

As of now that's the plan, then coming back I pick at #22 and Lamar Miller is my guy. I think he has an RB1 type season.
