Keyshawn's comments on the NFL and ND Corners

It's painful, but he's right...

Johnson said he watched the Trojans this season and saw Jarrett struggle in the opener.

"Any time you go down to Arkansas and you allow those guys to jam you at the line of scrimmage and run poor routes, you're not ready," he said.

Jarrett's three-TD performance against Notre Dame was not enough to convince Johnson.

"Notre Dame?" Johnson said. "Those corners aren't any good."

I seriously doubt that Keyshawn has watched a single ND game to make that comment. But you don't have to be a genius to figure out we are lacking in the secondary.

Sounds like he watched the USC game. And frankly, everyone knows our corners blow chunks...it's not exactly a secret.

Shouldn't Keyshawn be worrying about his own team's underachieving.

A lot of people hear it on ESPN and talk like they know. Our corners aren't as horrible as they are being portrayed to be but they still aren't very good. A bad pass defense is getting really old. Hope is on the horizon however with Walls, McNeil, Gray, Brown, Smith (on Friday), etc.

Bah...he was asked about something he knows a lot about (WRs going to the NFL early). He was well within his perview to talk to this...

All NFL WR's should just shut their yaps. I'm tired of all of them. Are there any that aren't complete narcissists who talk too much? That's a rhetorical question.

Keyshawn has never restrained himself from saying anything. Why would he start now?

For every Marvin Harrison there is a Keyshawn, Chad Johnson, T.O., Roy Williams, etc.

There are far more hard-working, quiet, reserved WRs in the NFL that those mentioned. They are just the ones that yap 10 times as much to give the position a bad name. See Donald Driver, Hines Ward, Reggie Wayne, Joe Jurevicious, etc.

I think the 1% that are bad apples ruin it for the position. Everyone thinks that WRs have such big egos. It's the same with every position in the NFL. The ones that make the news ruin it for the rest of the players. There are hundreds of toughies out there that just get it done without talking about it.

Yet again I mention that they were interviewing him about WRs going into the NFL early.

The viewpoint of an NFL WR is not only valid, it's one of the most valid.

I don't follow the NFL one iota, so I don't know anything about him or any other NFL WR...

But if I were to look for advice on whether or not to go early, I would ask current NFL players.

I don't see that he is a narcissist when giving an interview about the options a college player faces in his Junior year. This was not about him at all.

Our corners are not very good right now, but remember who the comments came from.

A decent WR at the pro level (great at the college level), who thinks/thought he is/was the greatest being ever to line up on the outside.

I would bet that Johnson thinks he could dominate Champ Bailey right now.

His statement wasn't incorrect...it was just inappropiate. Nothing new from Johnson, just ask his former NY Jets WR...Wayne Chrebet.

Id like to know how Arkansas has the talent that we dont. Why were they able to bump and we play 10 yards off the ball?

Keyshawn is the most overated WR in the history of the NFL. Marvin Harrison is a crybaby little kid inside, TO is a dick, and Chad Johnson is funny as hell. He talks a ton of smack and backs it up. He has fun with the game while taking it seriously, if that makes sense. He is a team player as well, unlike TO.

Just a little debate here that will continue to go on, because we all think differently. But Keyshawn can say whatever he wants, he has a very good career in the NFL, he is not a "Throw the ball deep to go", he takes hits over the middle and works in traffic. If he wants to say that Arkansas used a plan that worked against Jarrett and then say ND did not use a plan that works, accept it. You do not have to agree with it, but look at Jarrett's numbers in both games. I believe that Keyshawn knows a little bit more then I do about what is easier to play against.

Well, in his defense, he's right. ND's corners DO suck.

NFL wide receiver has become the sport cesspool of loudmouthed, ingnorant, selfish, uneducated moron assholes.

I'd like to put Chad Johnson, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Keyshawn Johnson, Roy Williams and Plaxico Burress on an island somewhere far away. At least two guys on that list actually back up some of what they say, but they should all shut the hell up. They still can't outperform their mouths.

Lose to a team 4 straight times so you can't say anything nice about them. That's the kind of guy he is.
