Should Irish Hammer be banned?

I think Hammer recieved as much or as bad as he got, just because it didn't affect him as it did the others is no reason to ban. Also, this is probably more a reaction to everyone inflating him to near-god-like recruiting status earlier on. People are getting too worked up, and he's just laughing at them. Lightening up and not responding to things that annoy you (especially others opinions) would be better solutions than banning.

ummm. there's a difference between talking smack and being a self-important dickwad. I think it's pretty clear which I think hammer is. he's been on my ignore list since he showed up.

to be honest, this site has taken a turn for the worse over the past couple weeks. Too much chaff and too little wheat. I mean, it used to be that a guy could get some interesting conversation around here. Now it's 20 different topics on "anybody hree anythin bout studs commiting!?!?!" and IrishHammer acting like he's some recruiting god when he's just an asshole. I'd really like for him to leave, and he did for a while, but now it looks like he's here to stay, and he's brought his ESPN troglodyte minions with him. There's just not a whole lot worth being here for anymore.

Oh, and I would say that svo would ban him... but I don't think svo's doing that kind of stuff anymore. : /

well, to be honest, it doesn't work all that well. it's like sticking rocks into a filet. you can take out the rocks, but you've still got huge holes in your steak.

There are other options.

That note on the Report Post seems to cover most of the negative items mentioned in this thread.

If he isn't, you guys are wasting your time. Usually an internet board isn't a democracy, it's an oligarchy. IE is a benign dictatorship. In the past our Benevolent Dictator has taken note of BAD REP and REPORT POST messages.

As for the quality of this board, it is just a dead time in college football, except for recruiting.......which....it seems has turned into a wait until the AA game extravaganza, which seems to me pretty unfair to these coaches that have invested so much in these kids. They must know where the recruits are headed, if not i think that is pretty crappy to do to the opposing program!

Absolutely. He's hurt my feelings several times and consistently fails to provide hour by hour updates on prospective ND recruits, something I crave and, frankly, live for. He also demonstrates an unhealthy lack of focus on football. He's even had the audacity to make posts on this particular forum unrelated to the coaching search at Alabama and Idaho State.

This site has become less enjoyable with many of the new posters. But, I can't say that IrishHammer is the root of that problem. There are many other "children" posting here now.
