He's on Offer Watch. Indiana's #1 rated player in the 2018 class. Even has a CB to ND from the Gopher's guy. Wiltfong currently has him as a Michigan CB but they have offered, ND hasn't.

Father was the coach at Arsenal Tech until last year. Turned the program completely around if I read correctly. Appears to be joining the Irish of Cathedral as they go 6A this year and battle the big boys every Friday.

Found a couple of interesting things on Dad's Twitter feed. Definitely a good sign.

Never seen this one...

No offer yet!!!??

He's been on campus a few times, was at II. They are on him and aren't too far behind the pack. The Wiltfong CB doesn't sit well, his tweets get read and retweeted at viral levels inthe recruiting biz. Every impression counts, ask Google.

First mention I've seen about Ekiyor and ND in a while. Still no offer but the fact that ND is mentioned with Tenn and Mich, two teams that have offered, is a sign there's probably significant dialogue. I think this might be a case of him not fitting into a size profile for HH and staff. I get the feeling he's not the 6-3 / 6-4 he listed at.

Here's his Soph Highlights:

2018? hard to care just yet.

Just have to count on the staff to continue to build the relationship early.

Isn't that one of the reasons that Kelly picked Oklahoma - he had a much stronger/longer relationship with them. - among other reasons.

Don't let one of the easiest things to do in recruiting - (make contact) - keep you from getting the players you want.

On MSU visit with the rest of the Cathedral guys. Got Tex A&M, FSU and MSU offers in the past week.

Ekiyor is one of the top offered players in the entire class of '18 but yet the Irish offered his teammates Werner ('17)and Stepp ('18) this week, yet not him. I'm going to guess that he's simply not that high on the OL board and at this point, it wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't get offered. Hard for a 6-3, 300lb OG to get an ND offer when the Irish have the luxury of turning 6-5 315lb 4 star OT's into guards.

Here's a pic with Ekiyor, Werner and Stepp.

Can this kid play defense?

Isn't Parker Boudreaux closer to 6'3"?

Werner and Stepp will be in South Bend for the Blue-Gold Game and Ekiyor will be at... Georgia.

I'd actually pay to know what went wrong and when.

And a minute after seeing the last tweet, i run across another with him rocking the ND visor.

BTW, take a close look at future ND linebacker Hugh Davis. Kid's stacked up for an '18 LB. Dare I say SEC build? He's gonna blow up this year.

Elston (maybe others) is in Indy to see the local recruits. Wonder if anything pops with Ekiyor? He told a reporter from the Indy Star recently that ND is one of his favorites even though they haven't offered.

Cathedral 2018 prospects ranked nationally

Ekiyor, a 6-3, 315-pound four-star recruit, has two dozen scholarship offers, including Michigan, Michigan State, Oklahoma and Tennessee. Notre Dame and Ohio State haven’t yet offered but Ekiyor said last month that both are also among his favorites.

Any of you Indy guys got anything local on this? There's next to nothing out there about it, unless it's all behind pay walls.

Visiting June 25 for Notre Dame's Lineman Challenge. The two offers he is waiting on are Notre Dame and Stanford. Will visit both this month.

Now we know why he hasn't been offered yet. Possible DT?

Isn't he a fit for Stanford's O line? Not that I want the Trees to get any good players...

I don't know if they ever offer unless they want to see him at center? He's short for HH, he's huge weight wise and if they are tearing Q down and rebuilding him... they'd need a demolition permit for Big E.

what's so strange?

He's obviously been Indiana's #1 recruit in '18 since day one and was a top 5 by offer nationally from the beginning too. He had more offers than anyone in '17 early on except HJ and he didn't trail by much. He actually had more offers than anyone form '16 except, Brandon Peters, Austin Mack and Auston Robertson.

ND's had to offer around him while evaluating him recruiting him. They've done that while he has received 24 FBS offers which is currently 3rd most among any offensive lineman in the class. From the time he was on ND's radar, ND was introduced to Pete Werner who they offered and received a commitment from. They were introduced to his classmate Markese Stepp who they have offered and expect a commitment from. They are now actively recruiting another classmate, Hugh Davis who they invited to II with the intention of offering if he impresses while they have stayed on the sidelines with him, did not invite to II and now are getting him into their lineman's camp afterwards for more evaluation. It's a strange as in unique scenario.

I'm not disagreeing with the staff at this time. Maybe A&M, Ole Miss, UGa, FSU, PSU, Aub, Tenn, OU, MSU and Michigan are wrong. He was mentioned as 6-4 early on, then it was 6-3 and now he's 6-2. There are plenty of bada$$ 6-2 centers but HH likes 'em long as a rule. So maybe he's that talented to get an offer in spite of his length. We'll see. I'm hoping he does because Cathedral is going to keep moving up the ranks of the Indy schools. Next year they will be the best team in the state and they might have finally forced the Catholic school football model used in Chicago, Cincy and Cleveland onto Indy where the best are brought into the program yearly. That makes it that much easier for ND to skim the cream off the top every cycle.

Just ran across this from Wiltfong's write up from Michigan's camp at Bishop Chatard. Mystery solved. He's coming to ND to work out at center.

Indianapolis (Ind.) Cathedral Top247 2018 offensive lineman Emil Ekiyor is still trying to get right coming off an injury, but the wide interior body with good feet and strength showed flashes of his great potential. Ekiyor said he’s transitioning to center this fall. Michigan has offered and is a top contender alongside the likes of Stanford, Tennessee and Michigan State.
