Jeremy Darvin still isn’t sure when he’ll visit Notre Dame, but the 2016 Tennessee defensive tackle still has plans to do so.
“I still haven’t figured that out yet,” the 6-foot-3, 285-pounder said of when he’ll make it to South Bend.
“I believe it’s going to be in the summer for sure.”
The Nashville native doesn’t have an offer from the Irish yet, but he’s remained in steady contact with Notre Dame recruiting coordinator Mike Elston.
“We stay in touch a little bit,” said Darvin. “It’s been busy this spring for the last couple of weeks and I haven’t been able to talk to him, but I’ll definitely give him a call as soon as I can.”
The Father Ryan standout is looking forward to his chance to see Notre Dame for himself.
“It won’t be during the season, so I want to get to know the campus and get to know the coaches and what they’re about,” he said. “That’s probably the most important thing.
“Hopefully I’ll be able to get to see a couple players and find out how practice runs or maybe even get to show my own ability out on the field. I just want to get the feel of the campus.”
Darvin recently picked up his first ACC offer from Louisville to go with offers from schools like Tennessee and Cincinnati among others. Several college programs have been through Father Ryan in the last month or so.
“It was amazing seeing a lot of the old schools who have offered and those who have not offered still show interest,” he said. “Some new schools have started coming too. They’ve said they like the way I play and that I’d be on their radar.”
He doesn’t have any visits scheduled yet, but does plan on hitting the road this summer.
“I’ll probably have a list in about a week,” said Darvin. “They’re going to be major because these schools that I’m visiting are going to be the schools I’m going to for my college career.
“I’m just looking for the best fit and hopefully I can pick the school that fits me best.”
Darvin isn’t going to rush a decision.
“I’m kind of a wait-it-out guy.”
